I was fascinated by the Creole typical food of the country. I’ve tried a great variety of dishes but I must say that my favorite I discovered in Lima: Lomo Saltado. I’m not sure what the secret or technique is, but I would like to thank the hotel chefs for their excellent seasoning when preparing these dishes. The hotel restaurant offered us the best food in Lima and Peru.

We went to the Gran Parque de Lima in order to escape from the heat, humidity and the noise of the city. The Gran Parque has lots of gardens and small ponds and the most amazing water fountains I had ever seen in my life! Upon our return to the hotel, we took hot showers and off we went again, this time to walk around the quiet hotel surroundings. We ended that day with the best night sleep in years!

Although it never rains in Lima, we ended up soaking wet after a visit to Parque de la Reserva, walking through its impressive water fountains and amazing light shows, setting the atmosphere for our return to the hotel, where we took soothing hot showers and got into bed, as the heating kept us warm for the rest of the night.

This is the first time I actually leave a written comment about one of my trips, but the memories I carried from Lima deserve to be shared. From the moment I arrived at the hotel I felt at ease. People usually walk or jog around the area every morning and that’s because it is a nice relaxing area, though I preferred to stay in my room. Every morning, the room’s warm atmosphere tucked me in and the only thing that could possibly wake me up was the fresh aroma of breakfast in bed which reminded me of those mornings on father’s day when my kids surprised me like that. This doesn’t happen everyday, so enjoy!

I had heard Peruvian food had earned a reputation among the most prestigious world cuisines. I had to check it out personally. As soon as we arrived, the hotel introduced us to a gastronomic tour of the most diverse dishes in Lima. After trying ceviche, lomo saltado, carapulcra, among other delicious options, I have to say that the winning dish was the hotel’s special: ostrich meat, which far exceeded my expectations and confirmed how exquisite Peruvian cuisine is.
