Hotel Larios is located on Malaga's main drag, which is a wide marble pedestrian walkway that seems to draw all of Malaga's fashionable population. (As a result, the cacophony of the city's busy social life can waft into your room.) The hotel has a beautiful facade and an Art Deco-inspired interior. Request a room overlooking the street if you can. Small balconies allow you to overlook the very fashionable street. (During my last night, the city was installing Christmas decorations across the main thoroughfare. The workmen in ladders were at the level of my hotel room, which was an added local touch!) A huge Spanish flag waves from a nearby plaza, which adds to the character of the hotel. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. (Although they contain no clocks whatsoever.) The staff is very helpful. The restaurant serves a simple but tasty breakfast. I stayed 2 nights, at the extremes of the trip. The Internet rate was considerably more favorable than when I had made an in-person reservation. The only downside is that the noise can be a distraction. But the Larios is a great place to stay.
