The service was great and staff were very friendly and eager to please. However, there is a language barrier and TIPS are often expected. The overall facility was clean. We did have a problem with small ants, as did 2 other couples traveling with us. They took over a carry on bag left on a dresser in the room. The bed is very firm, but the bedding and pillows were fabulous! Great ammenties, such as wireless internet, free phone calls to the US, mini bar with in room liquor dispensers, robes/slippers, quaility bathroom products. The food was "okay." Having stayed at other All Inclusive Resorts with great food, we were overall disappointed with the food. The pool areas are great. The beach area was very disappointing, as they really do not have a beach. You only have access to the coves, which are basically like another swimming pool. The only activities in the coves is snorkeling and kayaking. They require a life jacket when kayaking, which we were not sure why... given the water is only 4-5 feet deep and as calm as the pool. The resort did include several excursions. We did enjoy the Tulum tour of the Mayan Civilization. Our guide was very informed and did an amazing job of giving the history of the Mayan's. The snorkeling excursion was "TERRIBLE." The reef was dead, they crammed 120 people into a very small boat, required a life jacket the entire time, and food was also terrible. Entertainment was okay, we often found ourselves looking for something to do at night. Would suggest renting a car so you can go into Playa, Cancun, or visit other Palace Resorts which are included.
The hotel is beautiful and the staff friendly.

The front desk was very friendly. The make you feel welcome since the moment you step in the lobby. The different pools are big, so there is always space for everyone. The food and entairtament is great. They have diferent activities every day, so even if you dont leave the hotel, there is always something to do. I had a wonderful experience and recommended to anyone. Is safe and clean. No worries.

Extremely friendly, prompt, and helpful service from all the Palace employees. It was easy to get near the same spot at the pool every day and no reservations or waiting for dinner at any of the many great restaurants. Most rooms have ocean views and there are a lot of honeymooners there. Great service, top shelf drinks, and great food. The only downsides are the 1-1.5 hour ride from airport and not the place to go if you are a beach person who collects sea shells.
Couldn't imagine a more perfect trip!!

I'm sure everyone at home is sick of me raving about this place, but it was unbelievable!!! The staff was so amazingly friendly and helpful that my husband and i actually started to ask for things just to see if they would say no, or seem upset. They just all looked like they loved their job. The food was excellent and the bartenders and entertainers were so much fun. The spa was HUGE and it was the best massage i've ever had. We just loved it and can't wait to go back!! The only recommendation i would have is that if someone is going just for the beach, it doesn't have an open area, just a man made lagoon. I hear the moon palace (which is owned by the same company) has a beautiful beach.
Exceeded my best expectations

My wife and I haven't gotten away since our honeymoon 5 years ago so I wanted to pick a place that would be special and conjure fond memories...and I did good:) This place was amazing from the hospitality, location, comfort of the room to the food and drinks this resort exceeded even my wife's lofty expectations. We were able to go on two excursions that were included in the price and transportation to local shopping areas was also included. My wife's only knock was that they didn't have a Starbucks (dude...we're in the Mayan Ruins). The 18+ atmosphere is a very nice change from downtown Cancun and there are still plenty of people to play with if you wish. We'll definitely be heading back, hopefully before our 10 year anniversary.
