The accommodations were spacious villas with a small kitchen area, an enclosed bedroom, and a dining room/living room. The bathroom doors were adjacent to the bedroom and living room. The beds and couches were very hard -- ask for an extra mattress for a great night's sleep!

Continental Plaza offers an excellent location on the island of Cancun and has a large number of activities at the resort or nearby. The resort has three pools, a beach at your door, a restaurant (Tony Roma's), a café, two small groceries, and a nice bar. Continental Plaza is rated 5-stars by most guides. Separate areas of the complex are available for hotel visitors and timeshare guests. If you are in the hotel, the air in the upper floors has a difficult time circulating. This problem does not exist in the resort area. The RCI members have a fully staffed hair salon, a masseuse, and a well-maintained gymnasium available for its guests. These services are not available to the hotel guests.
I have visited the Continental Plaza resort on three occasions and the hotel on two others. For those who enjoy the beach, the beach can be found directly outside your door. For those who enjoy shopping, the Flamingo Plaza is directly across the street; or one can take a bus to one of five other plazas that are nearby.
Pat O'Brien's and Los Rancheros are two restaurants located across the street in Flamingo Plaza. Both have excellent food and plenty provide some form of live entertainment in the evenings. Tony Roma's is one of the excellent restaurants in the area. Here are served excellent barbeque, steak, and ribs (among other dishes). Again, other restaurants are located within a short distance, and you can easily find them by walking, riding the bus, or taking a taxi.
Three discos are located within two mile down the road from the Continental Plaza. Others are not far away. Many young (18 – 25) people like to go to La Boom. Christine’s caters to a crowd from 18 – 50. You can easily take a bus to these discos.
Whatever your interest, Continental Plaza is located in the center of the local action and is a wonderful place to spend your time. I will highly recommend this resort to any traveler in the Cancun area.

Pat O'Brien's and Los Rancheros are both across the street in Famingo Plaza. Both have excellent food and plenty of entertainment. Tony Roma's is supposed to be an excellent restaurant, but I have not tried it... yet.
The discos are just down the road. You can easily take a bus to these areas.
Whatevr your interest, Continental Plaza is a wonderful place to spend your time.
