We booked a king size bed, but were given a room with two doubles pushed together. The front desk told us it would cost an additional $120.00 a day for the king size bed.
I spoke to the manager, who refused to help at first because he said that Travelocity didn’t book it right. After much debating, he finally stepped up and accommodated us.
The breakfast buffet had something for everyone. The lunch buffet wasn’t any better then your local diner. Aside from the dinner buffet, there were 4-5 restaurants to choose from but guests had to line up at 9AM to receive a numbered ticket to be called up for a reservation. The restaurants go quickly but the food is just average. We hit downtown almost every night to eat out. Lorenzillo’s had amazing seafood and Nicksan (sushi) was great.
The hotel grounds are amazing and well maintained. Every employee was very personable and went out of their way to acknowledge us.
There are two huge pools and two swim-up bars but one of the larger pools has all the entertainment and a really corny and annoying MC who wouldn’t shut up. Even though the majority of guests are American and Canadian, the primary music at the pool was Mexican. When we requested more English songs, the MC seemed annoyed and disregarded the request.
Overall, for the price, it's a nice place to stay and we would definitely return.

Never have I wanted to leave a vacation before like we did last week! My husband I have been to Cabo 4 times, twice at another all-inclusive. We LOVE Cabo, and will continue to go back-but never to the RIU Santa Fe! I lived on Salad and French fries for most of the week-and even the fries were not cooked all the way through one day! The way they take reservations for the "restaurants" (glorified buffets, really) was horrible. One man or women giving out numbers...just like the other reviewers stated. The service was adequete, at best, and very few of the staff could communicate with the english speaking guests. Hope you love Corona and bottom shelf allcohol, because that's all they serve. Beware of what time of the year you go as well. College must have been out for the summer because all we saw were very drunk, overserved kids making fools of themselves by the pool, at the bars and at dinner. I tried to communicate to the hotel prior to our stay regarding transportation to/from airport and never got a reply. Also, if you are used to servers by the pool, etc-you are out of luck there. We mostly felt as if we were invisable to the staff most of the time. One young man from the entertainment staff had lunch with us one day and I have to compliment him-he was VERY friendly and showed wonderful customer service...but that is it! I will give a compliment to the Entertainment...They had nightly shows (like cruise ships) that were enjoyable and entertaining. I am not normally one to complain about things and don't consider myself a "hotel snob", but unfortunately, this one was deserving of the review and hopefully to warn other travelers.

Just returned from the Riu Palace on April 16th 2008. We have traveled the world and this is by far the worst dining experience we have ever dealt with. we were required to get "in line" an hour before reservations for dinner were excepted and then stand in line again until your number was called. basically wasted 2-3 hours EVERY morning just to TRY to get into a dinner and avoid the mediocre buffet !!!!! every person i talked to in line said that they have never had to do that anywhere else . i would never return to this hotel based on that fact alone !!!!

My two daughters and I stayed here for 12 days. The open atrium hallways created quite a bit of noise!! This is a time share property, but I would advise anyone going there to take the time for the presentation, you will receive a Gold card and all purchases are then half price. Food, drinks, and activities. Presentation lasts about 1 1/2 hrs and a buffet breakfast is included. This hotel has great beach access with plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas. The majority of the staff was efficient and polite. The only problems we encountered was with the check in and check out personnel. They conveniently can't answer questions with a straight answer. I would also advise all travelers staying here to NOT put any purchases on a debit card. I returned home and was surprised to find over $2,730.00 in erroneous charges on my card. Take a cab downtown as it is now a short walk. A cab ride will cost $7.00 each way. I will stay at Finesterra Hotel next time I travel to Cabo.
