Wonderful large room

Traveling from Jersey to Ohio, we needed a midway stop and this was more than perfect. It is a 100% non-smoking facility. Our room was L-shaped (the size of a suite) with 2 extremely comfy queen beds, each with four great pillows, large desk with free wireless, a huge flat panel tv on which we enjoyed the Olympics, a small table with 2 chairs where we brought our breakfast back to eat , a spotless bathroom with granite countertop and curved shower rod (love them) a microwave and small fridge and still there was room for another queen bed. Traveling with my 4 month old granddaughter was easy as they supplied a nice size port-a-crib (not pack & play) at no extra charge. The extra sheets they left with the crib came in handy when we spread one on the floor so baby could roll around. This would not have been possible in a standard hotel room. Complimentary breakfast was the usual bagels, pastries, juice, coffee, tea and do it yourself waffles. I think next time I'll bring a package of the pre-cooked bacon and heat it in the microwave, just so the entire meal is not carbs. With our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter living in Ohio we've previously stayed at the Super 8 in New Stanton, but for just a little bit more money this place is well worth it. I will only stay here from now on. I wish some hotel rooms I've stayed in were this beautiful. Front desk was very friendly and there was a small pool, though we didn't use it. Directly off Rt 70, can't miss it. You will not regret choosing this Comfort Inn.

Best Western University Inn

The Best Western is the closest chain hotel to UNC , and therefore very apt to fill during any school activity. It does not exceed two levels, and many of the rooms are ‘drive up’. It is set back from Highway 54, but rooms on the back section are less exposed to the traffic noises. They offer both smoking and non-smoking rooms and while an older building the rooms are pretty large, and nicely appointed.

They serve continental breakfast in the lobby in the mornings. While there is not a restaurant in the hotel the Aurora , is right next door, and the driveways even connect.

They have a small pool, that is located in the front of the hotel. It can be viewed from Highway 54, but the landscaping around it, and the cabana they erect helps to break the direct view of the pool. The management is meticulous about the appearance of the hotel. You will often find them walking around the hotel and even bending over to pick up small bits of trash that had escaped others notice.
