Don't stay there -BAD DECISION

We had two rooms reserved at this hotel for three nights. Just to let you know, the "online travel website" guests are placed on the lower floors near the street. The location of this hotel is right in the middle of the shopping area. It is very loud and noisy all hours of the day and night. The windows to the balcony were newer but were not installed correctly so they never completely closed. The first day they did not clean one room and the second day they did not clean the other. We complained and were told perhaps we had a "do not disturb" sign on the door. That was not the case. One night the noise outside was so loud at 2am I called down to the desk and asked what could be done. I was told that there are "police" who handle that. They never made an effort to do anything and the noise continued for well over an hour. They also host a lot of bachelorette and bachelor party guests who come in large groups and are loud and drunk. This is definitely not a three star hotel as described. The air conditioning only worked selectively also. The first night it was well over 90 degrees and it did not work. We were extremely disappointed with our decision to book this place. It was not as described at all. The only good thing was the free internet which also worked only on occasion. Do not stay there with families. There is noise and people begging around the hotel. The front door to the hotel is locked and you must be buzzed in. That should tell you something about the area it is in. Worst online travel website choice we ever made.

Pictures not worth a thousand words

We reviewed other customer comments and took a video tour or the hotel before booking. There would be 3 adults so we were interested in the bedding arrangement. Each picture of a room showed the std European queen, twins shoved together, and a separate 3rd bed that appeared to resemble a murphy bed arrangement. Definately NOT the case when we checked-in. Three twins shoved into a room approx 15x16 US ft. Obviously we were not there for the room, but it was very inconvenient. The staff and service was good and the location, just off Puerta del Sol, was great. December 25 - 30, 2008

This was a nice, clean hotel. The staff were very pleasant and spoke fluent English. They helped me arrange day trips. The room was small though and the breakfast buffet was expensive. The hotel was right off of Puerta del Sol,which was great, and right beside a major department store.

Great little place

The stay at this hotel was very comfortable for two single travelers. Beds were comfy, rooms were clean, it felt safe. Only minor problem was needing toilet paper in the middle of the night - don't laugh, that's the time we got in and found the empty roll had not been replaced. I would recommend this hotel if you don't plan to spend too much time in your room - sleep, clean up, go.

"perfect location, nice enviorenment, clean rooms, professional assitance but my room was extremely humid (the smell was very intense) and some parts of the hotel had humidity stains. the hotel needs to take care of that. "
