Shangri-La Hotel Shenzhen

New hotel that is well maintained with many ammenities, moreover, the staff is very courteous, helpful and very accommodating. The food was excellent and first class. We stayed in the Club floor which had an great breakfast, tea and evening cocktails. We will defintely stay here again since it was walking distance from the train station. We traveled 40 minutes from Hong Kong to Shenzhen. The rate was great much lower than staying in Hong Kong.
Very Noisy Hotel

There's very few Shangri-La hotels that are not spectacular in every way. This is one of them.
Check-in was understaffed, so it took 20 minutes to check in.
Even though the room is supposed to be renovated, it does not have a separate shower, it is a bath/shower combo.
The biggest problem about this hotel is the complete lack of noise insulation. Whenever anyone in either of the rooms to the sides of mine, or the one above mine takes a shower, uses the sink/toilet, i hear it. And it's loud enough to wake me from a sleep, which it did at 3:30AM when a neighboor got back to the room and decided to take a bath.
If you're on a lower floor, the windows don't block out the noise from the line of honking taxis across the street at the train station.
Gym is old, and outdated.
The only thing to eat for vegetarians is salad. EVERYTHING has pork/meat/poultry in it, and there's no place within walking distance outside of the hotel to go to.
The room itself (aside from the bathroom) is nicely decorated, & clean. the bed is not so comfortable.
One big plus, internet is free, they don't try to rip you off like most hotels in asia at $20 per day for internet.
