Convenient and comfortable

Great hotel, close to shopping and subway. The room (a double) was small but fine. Very clean and quiet. Great workout facility. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only surprise: a $2 per bag fee to leave your luggage after checkout. But would definitely stay again.

Doubletree Metropolitan (NYC) a reasonably priced big hit

Great midtown location, near Rockefeller Center and not far from Broadway / Times Square. Room I was in was average size and very comfortable. Shower had almost instant hot water and great water spray. WONDERFUL staff, friendly attitude. Excellent concierge desk. Almost didn't believe I was in NY, except for the food prices. Don't touch the mini-bar / refrigerator unless you want to be charged . . . hansomely. Room had excellent HD big screen TV. Beds very comfortable. NO continental breakfast, but hotel restaurant opened early. Plenty of other restaurant and deli choices nearby. Ask for rooms away from the elevator if you don't like much noise at night. Sounds a bit like the ocean, but might bother some folks. The elevators are some of the fastest of any hotel in which I've ever stayed. Almost across the street from St. Patrick's Cathedral and very near St. Barnabas, Episcopal. Have a good time.

In room internet is very poor

Wireless and ethernet connections are poor, slow and management is slow to respond to rectifying these problems which make it a difficult property to stay at when on a business trip.

Our stay in New York was excellent because of the location of our hotel. The staff at the hotel was helpful and friendly, and made our trip memorable. I slept like a baby every night!!!

Not as promised on the website

We stayed there around New Years eve. Internet is not free in the rooms, and no kitchenette. I wish I knew it all in advance, I would have picked a different place or wouldn't count on those things. Rooms are clean though, service is good. Location is great.
