We arrived late Friday night, staff was efficient & friendly & of course the warm cookies were welcome. Our room was decent sized until we realized they had not yet set up the cot as requested. They did so immediately, and it was comfy according to our son, though it took up alot of the room. Even though we were on the second floor, we didn't have any problem w/street noise. Very nice exercise room.. Our bed was very comfy. The AC was not on yet (mid-March) but we were able to open the window so all was well. The TV was large, easy to use, good selection of channels. We had a few questions and the staff really was very helpful & pleasant. Excellent location: very near subway & sites & restaurants. Paid for one day of internet in our room (it's free in the lobby) and otherwise the concierge was helpful.. As we were checking out, staff got us a town car for less than a taxi. We'll definitely stay there again.

as most reviews will say -- this location is very convenient while not being in too busy an area. all of the people we dealt with were friendly and helpful --they guy who stored our baggage had quite the sense of humor! (but then we found that many new yorkers were funny that way) The bed was great, the room not too small and it wasn't too difficult to cool off the room by opening the window if needed. NY heating can work a little too well sometimes, ha. I had read reviews that were not complimentary, but I believe that it was a great deal for the price. our restroom had some moisture issues but I'm not certain how hotels like this that are constantly booked can ever really stay on top of a little mildew or a few spots of peeling paint. I'm really pretty picky about hotels and it wasn't that big of a deal. I would recommend this hotel to others and as long as you are aware that they do charge $2 for storing your luggage and be careful not to move the food items in your room (they have sensors) then I don't think there will be any unpleasant surprises. there's "ess-a-bagel" behind the hotel that's a great spot for bfast and the oxford (next block north) has a grill for eggs and such -- very friendly staff there. it was great, great fun!

Found bedbug bites and bugs in my luggage and on my person following this visit. Actually would stay again if I were sure this problem was fixed. Otherwise everything was great!
Lackluster stay

We stayed for 1 night in the hotel and was not impressed. I would not give it a 4 star rating. # would be more appropriate. The bed was not a queen size but smaller. They moved me to another room and the bed size was the same. Also, the ceiling had paint peeling and the shower had the fixtures coming off the wall. The carpet was not very clean with stains on it.
On the plus side, the room was very quiet and the bed was comfortable.
It would not be a hotel I came back to.

4th visit. Great location. Near subway and central to everything. Great and helpful staff helped me print return boarding pass @ No-charge. Extremely comfortable bed. Neutrogena toiletries and sunscreen provided. Extra security in the evenings added since my last visit. Overall a terrific value!
