Front desk was really bad............

The first night was horrible. We were treated like we were an imposition at check-in. Then they put us in a room that smelled very moldy and only had a peep of an ocean view. We requested to be moved the next day, the front desk (the same woman that checked us in) said they were overbooked and nothing was available. She also informed me that they do not advertise ocean views. We asked another staff person and was moved immediately to a fantastic room. Our nine year old loved the hotel and even commented on a couple of the staff members that were exceptionally helpful. Other than the one person at the front desk that had zero customer service skills, the rest of the staff was outstanding.

Beautiful beach.

This hotel is a little bit far away from the Puerto Vallarta "Malecon," but is is located in a great spot of the Bahia de Banderas Bay. I really liked being away from the crowded places and beaches of Puerto Vallarta. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very friendly.

We had a great vacation at this facility.

Great hotel for the cost. I did not have amny complaints. The staff was frindly and efficient. CHeck in and check out was quick. The facility was very clean and maintined. ALthough the bed was too hard for my taste, the hotel woom was very nice. The only problems I felt really needed improvement was the service in the Market Deli on the premises. The service was very slow and the deli did not have very much food prepared for take out. Staff were not accomadating and very slow. Service defenatley needs to be improved I was surprised it was even related to the hotel, the service was so poor. The other thing is the distance away from town. Being that far away without any eating facilities except the one at the hotel, I felt very limited on food. I would have like to go to the other hotels to eat or drink, or have a plaza with a market and other places to eat other than beiung "stuck" to eat at the (2) places available for 6 days. Overall though. A great experience and a good time.

Very Nice Hotel but pricey

It would be a great vacation if you don't mind paying $18 for a burger or $9.50 for fries, etc. The foods is ok but not that great in my opinion. We walked to Mega (25 mi.) twice to stock-up on foods and drinks. Bucerias is 45 mi. walk on the beach. The beach is OK and clean. We decided to take the Tropical and City Tours since the tax costs can really added up. Taxi to the hotel $28 for 4. No bus lines around that I can see. Looks like most of the prices have been gone up recently. They charged us $3.76 a day for other "services", beside the maid services. It seems reasonable but I doubt that the money will go directly to the staffs. It's cheaper to purchase the AI plan with the package.

Amazing experience

The resort was better than expected. 5 star all the way. From the moment we stepped out of the cab the staff was inviting, friendly, helpful and a joy to get to know. We felt welcome & at home immediately. The pictures don't do justice to the true beauty of the building & grounds. The pool was beautiful & big enough for a full house. The outside bar & beach side hot tube w/ fire pit were fun, take time to enjoy. Tips should be a part of your budget. Tip well but fair & you won't wait for anything. The beach was private, except for the vendors but you're in Mexico, you should understand that is part of the experience. There were plenty of chairs, umbrellas and even hammocks. The restaurant, though spendy, was worth it & we recommend the all-inclusive but wait until you get there to buy it. Got to one of the 90 min seminars (takes longer) & you can get a discount on the all-inclusive & a 15% discount card that works in Puerto Vallarta & Bucerias (great little town 10 min. taxi ride north, do your gift buying there instead of PV). The location of the resort is secluded, plan on taxi money ($27 there and $30 back for 4 people) but you can negotiate this. There are always plenty of taxis waiting that will take less than the next guy. The bus will save you $, not time. If you do any tours (zip line, snorkling, etc) plan a whole day (worth it) & do it earlier in your vacation. If you expect perfection, you will be disappointed as this doesn't exist & if you go hoping not to spend $ you will feel let down. ENJOY THIS PLACE!
