Hotel Stay

My boyfriend and I stayed there last summer. We had a nice time and the property was well kept. The biggest issue was the mold in the bedroom. We called down and they way the fixed it was to wiping the mold off the walls and put a dehumidifier in the room. The hotel is located about 20 minutes by taxi from town and the food on the resort is really expensive. We would go back, but it would not be our first choice.

Beautiful Property

The hotel was beautiful, clean, new, spacious. The pools were the best I've ever been to. The beach was clean, the water comfortable. It's very active so it gets a little noisy during the day but you can go to the beach to escape the activities. If you are going to be on the beach at night you should use some bug spray but they won't be around otherwise. The parties were a little hokey and the food, though plentiful and varied was just okay. The restaurants were good. Change dollars into pesos. You'll save money outside the hotel if you pay in pesos. Try to get on floors above say, 4. The views are spectacular. Enjoy!

Beautiful property / need to pay attention to details

Beautiful property, nice employees and good food. Just get past the initial attempt to get you to view the timeshare demo. They say they are not as bad as other properties, but it does earn you 15% discount while you're there. Plus some other discounts. Our kitchenette was missing a few things and we had to have them replaced. I'm not sure whey they don't watch for that. Got a piece of glass in our cocktail at the beach bar one day, and they comp'd the drink. Great sunset views each night from our balcony. We would stay again.

Great accommodations

Resort was spectacular and the accommodations were clean and extremely spacious. Our group was 20 in number so we had everything from suites to 2-bedrooms. Although one bar is open till 1:00 a.m., the resort shuts down pretty much after 10:30. There is a small village that has several beach front open-air restaurants, all had great sea-food and red snapper was out of this world. Flamingos Beach is great, much bigger than Puerto Vallarta, proper -- and less beach peddlers -- although enough to keep the die hard shoppers entertained. English is not spoken as fluently hear, as compared to downtown, but enough that you can understand and be understood.

Flamingos Villa Del Palmar

Highly recommend Flamingos Villa Del Palmar. This resort is a 5 star resort for Mexico. The staff was excellent. The pool was absolutely georgous. Pool vollyball and the water aerobic classes were fun. The beach was very nice. The little store at the resort was very handy. I recommend you taking your own pillow as the pillows in the room were hard. We bought extra food like ice cream and bananas to make fresh banana milk shakes at our room. You can also take a Taxi for $6.00 to the Mega Market and stock up of groceries so you don't have to eat at the resort. Our family of 6 stayed for a week and ate all of our meals at our room. The roads into the resort were horrilble but the resort itself was the nicest we've been to. I can hardly wait to go back. Take lots of sunscreen! It's expensive in PV. We traveled with American Airlines and that was also a positive experience.
