i visit this resort every year because of the seclusion of it (not part of a big chain) and also because it's gives such an island feel. i love everything about this hotel from the service to the food. my only concern this year is that some of the food was old. being buffet style in the main dining room a lot of your items can get stale and you don't catch it because you buy in such bulk. but just a word of advice to drain out the juice machine, check the creamers and the cereals and it's all good. i think it was just an oversight and won't keep me from going next year.

We were impressed with the quality of the food and the pleasant staff. An amazing array of pastries were served at every meal at the Junkanoo. The rooms we stayed in were older, but kept very clean. The garden was quite lovely with many shrubs in bloom. We had plenty to do there at the resort - archery, windsurfing, kayaking. Our favorite thing was the snorkling. There is a reef about 50 yards off the beach with a rainbow of colorful fish.

My husband and I came here for our first anniversary the first week of October. The beach and views were nice. There is a reef right out front and you can use the hotel's snorkel gear to explore. However, the masks were leaking. A cruise ship let people off at the beach 2 days in a row. The cruise people took all the tiki huts on the beach and made the lines at the beach bar incredibly long while they ordered 20 drinks at a time to take to their parties. The buffet was ok but there was never any variety. It was pretty much the same thing every day. The Italian restaurant was extremely slow and not very good. The Chinese restaurant had quicker service, but they were out of several items on the menu. The beach bar had generic hamburgers and hotdogs. Do not eat the chicken nuggets. I really don't think they were made of chicken. The room was ok. The walls are a little thin and we could hear our neighbors. Immediately after checking in, we were approached by a woman working there to take a tour of the hotel and we would get some free items. This turned out to be an hour and a half sales pitch to buy into the vacation club where you supposedly get 25 years of free vacations if you pay for 5. The sales people were very pushy and would not take your first "no" for an answer. We had to tell them we were not interested 4 times before they would stop. All in all this vacation was ok for the money. But I wouldn't stay here again. There were just too many little things that I didn't like.

The facilities and staff were wonderful. Everyone treated me like royalty and was attentive to each and every need. The environment could be enjoyed by both couples and families. I would definitely return to this resort in the future.
