Nice place for the money

My family and I stayed at the Carriage House in February 2009. We thought it was very nice and the front desk staff was very helpful! You cannot beat it for the money. It is right in the middle of the three ski resorts with a bus stop right out front to take you anywhere you want to go within Park City.

Perfect location - great amenities including free wi-fi

My stay at Carriage House room 216 in December 2008 was comfortable, clean, and quiet, it had updated furnishings and d?cor and everything worked. There was even a selection of books in the entertainment center. I had no problems! Worth way more than the quoted price! The ?studio? is actually a spacious condo unit with a separate bedroom with a second sink/vanity area, a very large bathroom done in lovely travertine, and a good kitchen with granite counters, full refrigerator, stove, micro, eating area, etc. This room overlooks the pool and has some mountain view. There?s a swimming pool, a hot tub, a vending machine, and restaurants and convenience store nearby. I would definitely stay here again, I really liked it, the location is super and it?s so easy to get around. The free bus service was right across the street. I know that the front desk is not always manned 24/7, but when I called at night with a question, someone answered and was helpful and courteous. Here?s a tip: all the units here are separately owned, and some of the units in this hotel, like Rm 216 are rated ?gold?, so it pays to ask for a particular room when you book. I was already familiar with Park City, so I know my way around, but here?s another tip: to prevent stress at check in time, ask in advance how to get to the hotel and how to get the keycode for your room. When you?re staying in a condo hotel, a little advance planning can save you a lot of headache. An added benefit is the free wireless internet -- easy to access. Also the secured building was a plus!

Nice, Clean but Staff not very helpful

We stayed for a long weekend of skiing. Condo was very close to bus route and a short ride to the slopes. The condo itself was better than what we expected based on other reviews. Biggest complaint is the desk staff was very unfriendly and didn't have answers to simple questions. We asked for late checkout and were told it was ok. Based on the lack of communication earlier, we reconfirmed day of, good thing because no one made a note. Even then, no one informed the maid staff. Other than the unfriendly desk staff, it was nice. The walls are paper-thin though... you can hear everyone around you.

God help if you are anywhere but on the top floor. Not only can you hear the people walking above but you can also hear their voices, TV, etc. Staff was unavailable and when they were there, it seemed like guests were a real inconvenience. Fairly close to the resort is their main positive.

We stayed there for our honeymoon, (a gift from my sister), and it was BAD! We checked in late so we had to get our key from a safe by the front desk because they do NOT have 24 hour staff. We sat on our bed to watch TV, and it BROKE! I slept the entire night on a slant, and we weren't able to do honeymoon stuff that night. The next morning I sat down to get changed, and the bed BROKE THROUGH THE FRAME! When we went to the clerk, he had to demand a new room, (he wasn't gonna fix the bed, just call maintence). There was no hot water in the next room's tub and we had to fill it with a pitcher. The fridge was good, nice to have, but the stove didn't turn on! The pool was freezing, and no a/c in the room. If you stay in Utah in the summer you MUST have a/c in the room or you will DIE! They did give us a fan though; I guess that was nice. We never had maid service although I did see the maid cart in the hall. It was a hard place to find if you've never been there before. I wouldn't stay there unless I had no other choice. Building is very secure though with a key pad locking door on the front of the building. Maybe the only good thing about our stay is that our second room was recently redecorated. Unless there's nothing else, don't stay here.
