Will not go back

We didn't choose the hotel. Apple vacation did it for us .The front desk staff at the Hotel wasn't friendly. They are tired robots. They have to be reminded every day that they have their jobs because of the tourists. We were lucky to meet with the clerk at the concierge desk. He was very helpful. If you like to swim in the ocean this is not the place for you to be. You can't get into it. There are a lot of reefs and rocks. They have two pools. Food was o.k. Some leftovers from the lunch were offered at dinner. Some things which were in the hotel directory did not exist such as juccuzi and a fruit bar. Yoga classes and Thai massage were the best! Room was clean. Service good. Entertainment could be better. The Apple rep at the Hotel told me that it's not really a six star hotel because of the location. Some 3 star hotels are better and more expensive. I suggest not to go for a square deal with the Apple vacations.

At least 45 minutes to get drinks. Boring food and NO activities better than you can get at any mall in the US. Won't be back.

Fabulous Stay

We just returned and will definately go back. Hotel rooms were beautiful with stocked minibar, turndown service, jacuzzi tub, clean. The grounds are beautiful, the drinks are well made. There is 24 hour room service. 10 minute public bus ride to the ruins. 30 minutes south of Playa Del Carmen and just over an hour or so from Cancun airport. This resort had everything. The food was delicious with no reservations needed, we never waited to be seated. Personal favs were the Asian cuisine and the mexican. We went with 2 other couples, at our request were given rooms near each other and received a free upgrade! We took advantage of the spa services including massage (with resort credit it cost $85 a person). The swimming pools are very large, the night shows were great. Our friend needed medical attention and the staff presented an immediate response, provided a doctor and provided transportation to the hospital in Playa. The concierge kept us updated on her condition . There was a problem with our return transportation to the airport and the staff immediately worked with the Olympus Tours to provide us with taxis to the airport, where Olympus met us and took care of the taxis. Absolutely no complaints. (Advice, please bring money to tip staff-they are well worth it)

The perfect vacation

My girlfriend and I went for a 5 night getaway and we did not want to come back home. The location was GREAT! Some complain about the distance from the airport (about 1 1/2 hours) but that means you are not choked amongst other resorts. The staff was very courteous and more than willing to go the extra mile. The food was very good, especially at Portofino, the italian place. Large number of activities to chose from on the beach or poolside, even a nightly movie on the beach. The beach was nice, but the water had a lot of sea weeds in parts, but that goeswith the area and climate. The room was beautiful! We were lucky enough to get an oceanside room with two balconies. There are two pools, one of which is the 'quiet pool'...ie no kids. We really suggest touring the Tulum ruins which are only 5 minutes away by cab (USD $7 of 70 pesos). ust bring your swim suits. There is a pristine beach at the bottom of the cliff that would have been so much fun to swim in had we known. I hope I can get back again. I will definitely stay here!

TH ehotel is beautiful; However, if you are interested in the beach, this is not the location for you. The beach is rough and rocky. Not enough water activities because of this. Great food in the World Cafe- not so much in the specilaty restaurants. No reservations are required for any of their restaurants. The entertainment staff is awesome. The employees are helpful and extremely accomodating. Room was very clean and well attended to. I would recommend.
