Great for divers!

Clean rooms, great pool area, and also a new beach. This is a great hotel for divers. Easy walk to the pier and pick up from several dive companies. Dive Paradise is our favorite. We chose to opt out of the All Incusive because we have found several nice restaurants downtown however a free breakfast was included and was terrific. About a 10 minute walk to downtown makes this a great location and the price is the best on the island for a hotel of this caliber. Would highly recommend.

We travel to Cozumel yearly but this was our first stay at the Hotel Cozumel. We were all satisfied and will definately stay there again. The food is good, the staff is friendly and fun, the rooms are clean and the pool is very nice. Only complaint would be there isn't a big beach but it looks like they are adding on and will soon have more beach area. If you are looking for a real fancy place, this isn't it. But, if you enjoy being treated like part of the family, this is the place for you. It is also within walking distance to town which save greatly on taxi fares.

You can do better...

Not horrible, but they've tried to fix everything with a coat of paint... even the lamp shades were painted, no kidding. Most light switches you had to jiggle to get the light to work. However the air conditioner was brand new and worked awesome. We never ate at any of the buffets because they didn't look too great and were small. We did order room service one night and the club had the most delicious roasted turkey on it (melt in your mouth with a deep smokey favor) and their chicken sandwich was very tender. If you stay here keep in mind their menu is small, but they will make anything you ask for no extra charge... you make your own menu. Down side, you can only use the beach club from 12pm to 4pm, we never went. Only stayed 3 days. Bathroom was small, no sink space to place your brushes, etc., nor was it new, except the paint, lol. We had visited Cozumel a year and a half ago and stayed at an all-inclusive. It's only a little bit more than this place, but it's a 1,000 times better, when we go back again that's were we will be staying.

The hotel is located about a 15 minute walk or $*cab ride to heart of the city. It is directly across the street from the water, but no beach near by. There is a pier which can be used to pick up customers for scuba trips. The pool is very large and they have some activities during the day. There are no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms. The restaurants is overpriced if you don't purchase the all inclusive option and the food is not worth the money you pay.

My two teenage children and I enjoyed our six night stay at this hotel during our spring break. Very safe and comfortable, friendly folks, wonderful pool, not too crowded during this week since it was after most families' spring breaks. I enjoyed the convenience of the dive shop across the street. Pick up right at the pier. This hotel has an underground tunnel to the dive shop and beach area across the street so there's no need to cross the street. Very safe and convenient. We thought the location was great. We walked downtown and back several times even at night--very safe. It only took 15 minutes walking leisurely, and the views of the ocean were beautiful along the way. If we were too tired to walk, a cab ride was quick, easy, and cheap. We took the ferry to Playa Del Carmen on the mainland and visited Tulum which I think everyone should experience. It was very interesting. Also our favorite spot on the island was Chankanaab Marine Park--what a beautiful place. Snorkeling and swimming were great as were the botanical garden and Mayan ruins (replicas) walk. It's a very special place that everyone should visit. Nice beach, restaurants (although we didn't eat there), dive shops, and warm water showers and locker rooms, too. All in all, this was a great trip that I would do all over again in a heartbeat! I wish we had had time to visit the museum downtown and the other side of the island. Next time--because I know I'll go back to Cozumel. The diving is spectacular, and there are so many dive sites! I want to see more!
