Relaxing/fun

All the rooms face out over the ocean, with (very) private balconies. entrance is on the 7th floor, with rooms going down to the pool and beach, as the hotel is on a cliff. Full kitchen, but we still ate in the good restaurant or in town, which was a 5 minute bus ride. Good ocean swimming, but interesting rocks to climb on way out from the beach.

I'm very disappointed with the resort. Lindo Mar is listed as a Gold Crown Resort, but I am not sure why.

Bad Points: Rooms lack proper air-conditioning, and they are dirty. The pool is the size of a bathtub. Too far from town, and if you try and walk you will probably be killed walking along the highway.

Good Points: The restaurant is good, the beach is private, and the staff are friendly (except the timeshare sales reps).

Best Things Nearby:
Close to town in the southern district of Puerto Vallarta.

Best Things About the Resort:
Restaurant, secluded beach area, friendliness of staff.

Resort Experience:
The restaurant was excellent in food preparation, servers, and overall prices. Privacy of the beach was great. The rooms were of ample size for four people, but the lack of air-conditioning proved a drawback. The traffic noise from the highway adjacent to our room #803 was so loud that sleeping was interupted frequently by trucks grearing down and using the engine compression as a braking tool.

It was warm at night in the rear of the unit where the bedroom was located, not allowing us to close the window to eliminate some of the noise. Air-conditioning in the bedroom at least would have been a plus.

The views from our balcony were probably some of the best in Puerto Vallarta. We would return to this timeshare, but since it is built into a hill, we'll ask for a lower unit so we would not be on the same level as the main north south highway in Puerto Vallarta.

Lindo Mar Resort

This is a classic Mexican resort. It was not a new state-of-the-art resort with all the glitz, but one that was reminiscent of an earlier time. I was reminded of a resort that would have been a shining star in the ‘40s or ‘50s. It may have been built in the ‘60s, but it had a feeling of romance and it was just an awesome place to stay. The rooms were marvelous. They had large bedrooms, large living rooms, and kitchens. The living room had a large glass Venetian accordion door that opened on a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean. We left our balcony window open almost all the time and enjoyed the ocean breezes.

In the evening, you could hear the mariachi band playing downstairs in the lounge, and it was festive and restorative. It was just a fun-filled, glorious time in the sun. The hotel restaurant was excellent. The staff was very hospitable and encouraged us to sight-see and gave us information on taking the bus into town.

The bus costs about US$.10 to ride the bus to town. The shops were fun to visit and in certain areas you needed to be careful of the vendors. I did get tricked into buying some fake silver jewelry, so you need to be aware. Some of the vendors are very nice and tried to warn me away from the vendors that would take advantage of the American tourists . . . we learned the hard way, I’m afraid. We came home with some great memories. We really enjoyed going to the end of the road to Tomatlan for the day -- we played in the sea and ate at the outside cabana for dinner. It was an excellent vacation! I am uncertain about the room price as we came in on our RCI weeks.
