The one-bedroom units have a large king bedroom and living room with kitchenette. The studio is small and narrow with a kitchenette. On one wall, there is a nightstand, a queen-size bed, and a pull-out sofa -- there's no room at all in between, as they abut each other.
On the opposite wall is a small sink, small refrigerator, and a two-burner stove, but no work area on the countertop. Crowded in is a table and two chairs and an armoire for the TV. Again, it's very cramped – no cocktail or end tables, and no place to set down a book or glass or anything.
The location is directly on the water, with snorkeling just off shore and a plane wreck in 30 feet of water, about 200 feet away. There are two pools (very simple rectangular pools) and a jacuzzi pool that works on-demand with three hours’ notice. The palapas were being renovated while we were there. The lounge chairs are in disrepair and have no cushions.
The open-air restaurant over the water was being totally rebuilt. The other restaurant serves B-L-D. The food is good, and prices are reasonable. It is the only choice in the area, as the other two restaurants – Ernestos and Casa del Mar -- had no patrons all week.
The resort encourages guests from the cruise ship to spend the day for $6.50 per person. On those days, food and beverages are served poolside. Most days, there were three or four cruise ships docked directly in front of the hotel. It’s interesting to see them come and go. It does block the water view and the sunset.
The resort is frequented mostly by American and Canadian divers. The dive shop is very active. There are some timeshare sales going on, but it is not distracting.
We called maintenance for many problems – they always responded within five minutes and corrected ½ of them satisfactorily. The problems were as follows:
Mold in refrigerator
A/C not working
Shower diverter would not shut off
No hot water
Cold water spigot in BR sink didn’t work
No forks provided
I would recommend this resort for dedicated divers, but not for vacationers. It is in disrepair and does not deserve a gold crown. Maybe in time, it will become better.

They lost power three times while I was there. They have TV service only half of the time while there. Mostly would go out at night when one watches TV. On Christmas day we had no power half the day and no TV all day. We were told the entire island was like that. We later found out that was not true. It was just our hotel.
The timeshare sales people are pushy and rude. They stand around the entrance way to the resort and make you feel uncomfortable. Of course most people will go and get it over with--if not, they are relentless with pestering you every day until you attend one of their presentations. Then when you say you are not interested, three more people try the hard sell and are very rude about it. Like you owe them $45,000 for a timeshare! Ha, what a joke. You will be pestered all over the island for timeshare presentations. If you ask for directions, they want to sell you a timeshare. It gets amusing after awhile.
