Bad experience

I picked this hotel from online trave website reviews and the location. The location was convenient as it was walking distance from the train station, but that was about it. While the room looked good there were 4 problems with our stay--1 minor and 3 major. The minor problem was that the refrigerator in the room was not cold so the wine I had brought with me to celebrate with my wife was not cold. The major problems were the following: 1) The air conditioning did not work well and the room was very hot. 2) The following morning there was no, and I am not exaggerating in the slightest, hot water. An ice cold shower is not how I like to start a day. 3) The biggest problem of all was the hotel staff's attitude about it. When I inquired the evening before about the air conditioning, I was told that was just the way it was--nothing could be done. When my wife and I brought up our issues with the hotel manager the following day privately in a very civilized fashion he apologized but did nothing. I chose this hotel partly because of the very high ratings on this Website, and I could not believe the manager had nothing more to say except " I'm sorry, that's too bad." We only stayed in Venice for one night on this two week vacation and it was the worst night by far of our stay. I would advise anyone to look elsewhere for a more professional hotel and staff.

If you're not going to be in Venice for very many days, this hotel is a great option because the location makes getting there very easy! It is only 1 block from the train station and about 3 blocks from the airport water bus stop. On one of the main roads as well as on the Grand Canal, it made for an excellent starting point for exploring the whole city. One of the main water bus (vaporetto) stops is just steps away, so even if you want to quickly get to the other side of the city, it is easy to do. The hotel was charming, but the rooms are small. We had a "superior" double and there was not much room for anything but the bed. The bathroom, however, was spacious and well appointed. Since we didn't spend much time in the room, it was not an issue for us, but if you like to "spread out" with lots of luggage, you may find it difficult! Staff was friendly and spoke English well. Breakfast was nice. The location is what really made it great!

Look no further, this is the one you want

My wife and I recently stayed in the Boscolo Bellini hotel in Venice. It is a perfect hotel experience. First off, you can't get any closer to the train station or vaporretto. The train station is no more than 100 yards from the hotel, maybe less. There is a vaporetto stop right out the hotel's front door that is serviced by nearly every vaporretto line in Venice. Buy the 24 hour vaporretto pass, and you don't have to worry about travel at all. The hotel is first class, a beautiful room, great service, and friendly English fluent staff. The only draw back was no internet in the room. There is a special perk that they don't advertise. Many folks do quick overnight stays in Venice when they travel to Rome. That's what we did. The hotel will hold your bags for you until your train/flight leaves. We checked out early and left our bags at the hotel. It gave us several more hours to explore Venice without having to cart our bags around. Very nice perk.

Not only was the Boscolo Bellini Hotel just a stones throw from the water taxi station, great shopping and delicious food, but the hotel itself was lovely. When we entered our room, we were amazed to find that stairs led up to a loft with a king sized bed, desk and TV. The staff were accomodating and spoke english. The bathroom all marble. The only criticism was about their "breakfast buffet". Go out!!!! Not worth 18 euro and when the plates are empty, they are not making any more. But the hotel is a must stay! Enjoy!

The room was basic but beautiful! Bathroom was spacious, all marble, updated, beautiful. Very comfortable, convenient location very near train station.
