Couldn't wait to check out.

My daughter and I were to stay 4 nights in March 2009. This hotel was swarming with families and kids everywhere. The room smelled like mold. The food was mostly buffet and horrible and even the martinis at the Sushi and Martini restaurant t were awful. We checked out the next day. This is not place to try to relax with all the kids. Unless you have little ones, don't go her.

Watch out for the unadvertised hotel fee

We pre-paid our hotel fee through the internet, checked in and were told that everything was already pre-paid. When we were checking out, we were charged 191 pesos (about $18 U.S. dollars) for a daily hotel fee. This fee was not included in their advertised rate, but were told that everyone has this fee tacked on for every day of their stay. They were very understanding and stated that the problem was with Travelocity, not with them, but finally refunded my money. Beware: they are going to charge you the hotel fee, so make sure to take it into account when comparing hotel costs. I think this is a really deceptive practice. Otherwise, the hotel is a nice place to stay with nice restaurants and a good location.

Poor value

Had confirmed rate of $259 at reservation, but rate was $276 at check-in. Stayed 2 weeknights; 2nd night rate climbed to $319/night. With tax that is over $400/night. Thought breakfast might be included in a rate like that. Wrong. $25/person extra for nice breakfast. Wireless internet was not working first 36 hours, so couldn't get e-mail done. Rooms were neat but bathroom/sink facilities tacky and worn. Definitely NOT what a business traveller will expect for this kind of price.

Spent two nights there Sept30-Oct2, business trip. Left items in the closet of my room at check out, was late for a final day of meetings. Amazingly, when I called later that same day to tell them I had left stuff in my room they told me house cleaning reported nothing and my clothes etc had vanished from the room!!!! BTW: It took them 4 days to tell me that!! I mean how can something vanish from a locked room within 3-4 hours of leaving it???? I will not stay there again. Nikko and The W are neighboring hotels; within walking distance and much better options. Plus, there is no air conditioning!!! The thermostat is on the wall but no air!!! An try dining downstairs... you have to pay to be seated????
