Would I go back? No. Every local every 10 feet hawks timeshares, trinkets, boat rides, etc. Airport lobby guys with official looking badges offer help only to segue into a sales pitch. Beaches are beautiful - when you can see the water between the 2 or 3 cruise ships, dozen yachts, and myriad skiffs, speedboats, and jet skis. Don?t swim off the beach. Scuba diving locally is a lawless meat market of dive boats, glass bottom boats, kayaks, and jet skis. Underwater, life is abundant. It's a paradise overwhelmed with uncontrolled development and tourism. Too bad.

Upon arriving, I knew this was going to be good. The check-in was easy and the staff were professional. No heavy sales pitch, just a soft one..."here is some information...". The room was beyond my expectation. Lovely decor, and well appointed amenities. Nearly every room has a wonderful view. Very uncrowded. Couple oriented, but found some friendlies at the pool. Four minute cab ride to CaboWabo. Close to marina, shopping and restaurants. Can not wait to come back!
relaxing, fun vacation

Tourist Trap

My girlfriend and I took an 8 day vacation in Cabo San Lucas because we had wonderful pricing on hotel and air through trave agent. However, the price gouge came when we fell for the supposedly all-inclusive "meal plan." At our first dinner we found out that the meal plan doesn't cover seafood, meat or top-shelf liquor (my Jack Daniels). And, if you want to order these, they are available at airport prices (I will say that the portions, even for appetizers, are huge). As a result of making the mistake of signing up, we ate 3 days worth of meals at the hotel and regretted almost all of them. The food is not that good, and service is slow every time, even at the bar.
The on-site deli/*10, sleeve of saltine crackers = $*).
The pool is great, but the promise that no children from the other 2 buildings will be allowed to use the Estancia pool is not true. There is no enforcement of any of the rules they claim to have.
We, of course, got accosted to sit through the timeshare presentation which can net you a "gold card" worth 40% off the outrageous food prices and 3 activities. We resisted for 3 days and then participated. The presentation was, thankfully, rather painless, but the gold card had restrictions too - the activites we wanted to do were not covered.
The other odd thing about check-in is that they asked us to sign a blank credit card invoice in advance, otherwise we couldn't charge anything to the room. We didn't sign out of fear of fraud and this made check-in more painful than it should be.
Security is not an issue, but the maids don't always lock balcony doors.
