Just got back in Feb 09. This hotel was a wonderful bargain. The room price was reasonable. The staff made it a great experience, they were exceptionally nice. The bed was very comfortable, king size with a duvet cover. There is a parking lot in front of the hotel and is always manned by security. The pool was small but well maintained. The hotel is located in a town that is primarily frequented by "Sugar Daddies" (those looking to hook up with women for a good time). I did not eat at the hotel. There were lots of bars and restaurants located nearby. The nightlife in town was exciting and non stop. When I got there, the beach was gone due to the storms. It looked like another planet fulll of jagged volcanic rock. But the sand came back the next day, weirdest thing I've ever seen. Would stay there again.

To be honest the hotel wasnt bad, the first couple days were all rain but the remainder of the trip the weather was GREAT!
We had some MAJOR RENOVATIONS going on while we were there which we were not aware that renovations would be going on during our stay.
Also the Private Beach they talk about in the hotel add was GONE!
They said they had some storms back in april that completly removed the beach.
The private beach is now just private rock!
We made the best of it and had a very nice time while in Sosua.
The city of Sosua can be a little intimadating at times but we ventured out into the city and explored a bit.....be prepared to get hassled by EVERYONE in the city....The staff at the hotel was very nice.
The beds were not very comfortable...Overall I LIKED THE PLACE!
I believe when they finish renovations the hotel will be even nicer!
Ocean view was amazing!
They also have amazing food!....The head Chef really knows how to cook....
FOOD WAS AWESOME!
So in a nutshell.............I loved the place just disappointed about renovations and the lack of beach which they advertised as private!
I would stay at this hotel again and I look forward to going back someday!
Oh one more thing.......there are horsebackriding trips that are booked for customers......The trip was amazing the guide helped us navigate the city and was just a great guy!
If you get the chance to take this trip!...DO IT!

I Have just returned from this property, it is out of season and was very quiet.
It was as if the entire place was my own resort, Staff, Food, Bar, Pool, Beach, one could hardly ask for more,
It is quiet and safe and easy and safe walking distance of downtown 5 minutes.
Great Place, I will go back.
I just got back!

My friend and I just got back from Sosua By The Sea on 3/4/08. Overall it was okay trip but never use the long distance telephone service to make calls from this hotel (it is very expensive). Learn from my mistake and use the nearby Internet Cafe shops siempre if you have to make calls to the United States.
Be careful walking around Sosua because traffic laws did not seem to be very important there. The streets are narrow and there are mopeds everywhere.
The Damajagua Falls is a must see. It is a beautiful place and I look forward to going back their soon.
Great holiday with some annoyances

Overall stay was good, except for constantly barking dogs and noise on the street. Couldn't get another room because it was full over Christmas & New Year's.
Second night there, the air conditioner stopped blowing cold air and it was + 85 in our room. Five requests to the front desk, but nothing was done. This was well before the resort was filled to capacity. No ceiling fans or portable fans in our 1-bedroom apartment. We insisted on moving one night around 11 pm, but had to argue before our request was granted. A week later, the same air conditioning problem, but this time, it took less than an hour for maintenance to fix the problem. The air conditioner problem was discussed frequently among guests, even those who regularly stay at the resort.
Staff and food were very good, as well as on site security and easy walking to nearby stores and restaurants. The all inclusive option was too much over two weeks. We just needed to get out and eat elsewhere every other day. Loved being right at the beach, spent lots of time snorkeling nearby reefs, relaxing on the small, but quiet beach and exploring Sosua. A bit pricey at $ 250 US/night for a couple with all-inclusive option. Besides losing alot of sleep due to the street and reception area noise levels, room was very good, bed was comfy and we enjoyed our stay. Next time, we plan to stay in Cabarete at a smaller resort owned by a Canadian couple we met in a Supermercado.
Sosua is bustling and the prostitutes are fun to watch with their Sugar Daddies. Lots of chicas and older gringo companions every where. Currency exchange at the resort not very good, but better at exchange kiosks within 5 min walk.
