Description: Arriving at the hotel
The hotel is within walking distance from the Kurfürstendamm, Berlin's shopping center. When you arrive at the hotel you are greeted by the concierge who’s standing outside and arranges the suitcases with another employee.
You go inside through a glass door. You come in a huge, modern decorated room with lots of glass. The man is already waiting with the suitcase and you can walk to the reception. Here is friendly staff awaiting you to help you with checking in. When you are looking around you see nice luxurious chairs where you can relax.
The room
The rooms are spread over several floors. I was on the third floor. The man with my suitcase is there again. We walk to the right where are several lifts. Then you walk over a long corridor with a beautiful carpet to get to my room. He opens the door. It is a large spacious room with a king-size bed. The first thing that strikes me is the color combination. Stylish brown, black and beige. The color composition is on the bed, but also the furniture. For the bed is a closet, where you can put your suitcase easily and where you can sit. There is a desk in the corner by the window. Wireless internet connection, so working with your laptop is no problem. There are also coffee and tea making facilities. An armchair and a straight chair with a small reading table with some magazines. The room is spacious and cozy.
The bathroom with bath and shower, sink and toilet are spacious and clean. A perfect environment. The shampoo and shower gel smells good. The safe is in your room. That gives me a safe feeling.
There is air conditioning in the room, you can arrange the temperature yourself.
Conference room
It's really a business hotel. There are conferences from dentist conferences to sports conferences. There is always something to do. For conventions and trade shows for crowds of people, this accommodation is also suitable. Equipment and technical equipment (beamer connection, Wifi, flipchart, etc.) are available. Coffee / tea facilities are well maintained. I was there for a conference and exhibition. You find the organization of this hotel is really set for large events. Lunch for a mass of people is a logistical feat. Just imagine that 500 people have lunch at the same time. At various places in different rooms are large buffets prepared. You pay 27 euros for a lunch conference. Everything is well arranged.
Restaurants
There are several areas where you can eat. There is a brasserie and a dignified restaurant.
The card is versatile. The prices are more expensive than in town or at MacDonalds, but you're in a 5 star hotel. Breakfast was served in a separate room. On the side against the wall was the buffet for fruit, yogurt, spreads, salmon, cheeses, meats and salads. The juices are nicely in ice. Like the milk. A side is a section for hot food such as omelets. On the other hand the cerial and then a table for bread. All very tidy. Coffee or tea was served on the spot. Excellent care and a pleasant fast service. There is a separate bar. Nice easy chairs. There is a great atmosphere here and the staff was very attentive. The coffee that was served, looked perfectly groomed.
Staff
I have only met friendly and helpful staff. All in a neat outfit. The staff exudes something like: we are proud and happy that we can work. They were helpful with everything.
Conclusion
I've been here so many times and I'll be happy to stay again. It is an oasis in the busy Berlin. Luxury and excellent care. It is a hotel to recommend. The prices are high end but you will get quality. You always pay for quality. And quality and luxury can be found here enough. The hotel itself is geared to the international traveler. I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are fine. But what makes the hotel so great are the facilities around it. For the conference area gives this hotel an extra plus for me. Everything is up to the last detail. This hotel is for me really worth five stars.
