PERFECT ! WERE COMING BACK IN SEPT

  • July 13, 2009

We stayed over the July 4th weekend...The staff at the hotel are wonderful. The rooms were incredible, be sure you opt for the "Royal Club" , its so worth it.You get an incredible breakfast from 6:30 - 11:30 then happy hour with hot horsedivers from 5:30 - 7:30...the beds are the best we have ever slept in at any hotel. The beach and pool are super clean and quiet. Getting to town is a 10 min bus ride, which stops right out out front of the hotel....Also dont waste money on a shuttle to and from the airpport...the hotel is 11 minutes from Cancun airport $15. USD each way in a taxi. We are returning this Sept fopr another 5 days.

I just returned today from The Westin and absolutely loved it!! The staff could not be more helpful or accomodating. The beds were so comfortable too...it was a wonderful experience and cannot wait to return. I upgraded to Royal Beach Club and will tell everyone it is well worth it...appetizers and open bar every evening for 2 hrs and a free GREATl continental breakfast...we were very impressed and cannot wait to return...the beach was beautiful and you can swim in the water..not like some of the hotels that are too rocky...great place..the only draw back was ordering drinks by the pool ..service was very slow.

Westin Resort and Spa

The Westin is a very nice resort and all the staff was quiet friendly and accommodating. If you want to go into town it is not within walking distance but the buses run continuously. The resort grounds were beautiful and the view spectacular. The hotel charges for everything, it cost extra for the use of the gym and snorkling equipment. The food at the restaurants on the premises was very tastful but expensive. We had breakfast at the resort one morning and the cost was high, for 2 buffet breakfast it was $47.50, nothing special on it. I did not feel it was worth the money.

Great Honeymoon trip

We stayed at the Westin for our honeymoon and it was an amazing trip. After searching many reviews the Westin came in as the best choice and we weren't disappointed. It was very well maintained, the staff was very friendly and the price was one of the lowest we found. We upgraded to the Royal beach club and it was a great choice. The rooms are much bigger and contain a balcony. The side of the resort you stay in has its own private entrance, pool beach and open bar. The breakfast every morning was a buffet and it was great, the money you save on not paying for breakfast will cover the upgrade. We simply enjoyed it because we could sleep in and eat whenever we wanted without having to go out. In addition, they offer evening oeuvres, which we ate a few nights as our dinner when we came back late from excursions and were tired. We don't drink, but they offer virgin drinks so we enjoyed virgin margaritas and dakeries. Overall we were quite please. The ocean side or lagoon side isn't much of a difference when at the Royal beach club, so I wouldn?t recommend spending the extra money. Both are great either way. The Royal beach club also offers a free computer room to check e-mail if that is important to you.

Take advantage of the Royal Beach Club add-on

We had a very pleasant stay at the Westin Resort & Spa and it exceeded my expectations ... if you stay be sure to add the Royal Beach Club upgrade so that you are able to enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast which includes a variety of breads, fruit, cereal, yogurt & toppings, in addition to scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage/bacon and waffles/pancakes. The breakfast is conveniently located in a beautiful room overlooking the pool and ocean. In addition to the breakfast, Royal Beach Club guests also receive a very well appointed "happy hour" where you can indulge in pina coladas, beers, margaritas, etc. (with no obvious limit) and many, many hot appetizers. We essentially ate breakfast, either skipped lunch or had something small and then had the happy hour for dinner ... not that we were trying to be frugal it was just so much food. Also included with Royal Beach Club guest was 30 minutes of internet use in the business office, or wireless. As noted in a previous review - the rooms are quite tropical. The beds were great, but felt damp at the end of the day. We loved the location of this hotel because it was in the quieter location of the beach and because it had such quick & easy access to the bus line which you can take anywhere for a mere 25 pesos.
