We loved the Grand Solaris and we would definately go back in a heartbeat. The only thing I did not like was that you had to get dressed for the Marco Polo resteraunt. The guys had to wear Khakis and a collared shirt. I think they should be able to wear dress shorts and a collared shirt or even a polo shirt. Other than that the service and cleanliness of the hotel was perfect! We enjoyed every minute of the trip and will go back next year, only next year we will stay longer! 4 days was not enough!!

Just got home from GR Solaris. Mediocre is as good as i can state my stay. Hotel is very nice clean rooms good service. The problem is the food. Buffet quality food would be an overstatement. After one dinner and lunch and two breakfasts me and my friends could not eat there anymore. Drinks are plentiful but beer is watered down. Pools are very nice as is the beach. Didnt have a problem with the timeshare people probably cuz we were 25 and they knew we werent buyin. Not a bad resort but i wouldnt recommend it to anyone nor stay there again.

My sister and I went for a 7-day all-inclusive trip, staying at the GR Solaris. We absolutely loved the hotel, the men and women working there. Special thanks to the activity directors who kept things lively and fun for all!!! We had a massage and facial at the spa and loved every second of the pampering! The food was wonderful, especially Marco Polo and Rosmarinus. Cafe Solaris was also fantastic. Coming from snow country we loved the fresh fruit and vegetables. Special thanks to our favorite waiter, who was working very hard to learn English. He watched out for us--and no doubt will someday go to Chicago to see some family. One thing I never received in Jamaica for all of the times I have been there is this: On the last day our flight was scheduled for 7 p.m. Checkout time at the hotel is 11 a.m. We were treated as guests between 11 and 4; we finally did catch our shuttle to the airport at 4 p.m. We had full use of the facilities during that time including pool, food and drink. The only thing is I wish the weather had cooperated. We had some days of sun, but cold fronts coming through more often then we liked. Nights were chilly. But again, whether indoors playing cards sitting in the lounge or out by the pool and ocean, the hotel staff was wonderful to us. Would I go and stay there again? YES! I would like for them to make the beds more comfortable as they were too hard, but no complaints on cleanliness. Pool water was too cool for me. Fridge in room was restocked daily with free beverages. Loved it!!!!

Our stay was mediocore at best. It started with the classic time share harrasment but also included scare tactics about leaving the resort. Our conceirge stated Our room was noisy. The ac fan and refrigerator made horrible noise. Our room was clean and tidy, except for corrosion in the bathroom. The fitness room mirrors were very dirty, even though there was a full time attendant. The food was buffett quality at best. After two diners, we only ate breakfast at the hotel. The food was very very poor. The drinks were good. Overall the Solaris chain of hotels have a nice presentation with no substance. The quality, attention and committment is not there. There are far better options.

My husband and I had an awesome week at the GR. Once you get through the check-in lady who wants to schedule you for time share info (just tell her you will get back to her and then when she calls you later just say you thought it over and decided against it) all else is perfect. Pools are beautiful, beach is great - unlike further down the beach where there is hardly any sand - the GR has a nice beach with waves. We were able to cautiously play in the waves despite the red flags flying up and down the beach. Hotel staff is wonderful - happy to help, friendly, always offered a greeting. Deli is open at night and room service is free - yes free - just be sure to tip. Rooms are clean and big, private balcony was great - sit out there and read - even if not on pool side still have a view of lagoon and not too noisy. Food is great wherever you eat on premises and drinks are not watered down too much. We caught one show in the ball room and it was good - clean, family fun. Get a lounge chair early - by 8:00 am and save with a towel and book - otherwise they are gone for the day. We have stayed at other places in Cancun but this was by far the best - more services, better beach, great pools, free room service, free in-room safe, shows, great price. I would highly advise people to stay at this resort - we were not disappointed with anything there and will return next year.
