The room was nice. We had a great view of the pool and ocean. It would have been nice if we had a microwave or small refrigerator for our room. I guess they didn't feel it was necessary with an all-inclusive stay.
It was amazing. My only warning is that you should NOT GET A TEMPORARY TATTOO there. Their black tattoos contain a chemical (PPD) that can cause an allergic reaction, blistering, and permanent scarring. Henna is brown, but theirs are black, so you can tell it has the added chemical. After I returned home, I developed a problem with my skin where my tattoo was and had to visit my doctor. Several weeks later I'm still hoping I don't have permanent damage.

We were in a corner, ground floor room right by the pool. We couldn't have asked for a better location. Our room was very clean, airy, well decorated and well-kept. The satillo tile everywhere in the room was very nice after walking around on the hot sand and cement. We walked in on our maid one day and got to meet the nice woman who made us towel animals on our bed everyday. She was very sweet and seemed to enjoy her work.
Everyday, we put on our swimming suits and walked out to the pool or the beach, which was just beyond the pool. This resort was adult only and topless sunbathing was allowed. We were glad to see them enforce it when a large family came to the resort to enjoy the beach and the facilities. We liked this resort so much that we left the resort only three times. Once was a nightclub outing organized by the resort, the second time was to go see Tulum and nearby areas and the third was to find a restaurant that we enjoyed the last time we were here. Otherwise, we stayed in the resort the whole time. Due to our RCI membership, we had access to better drinks and ability to dine at the fancy restaurant more than once per week. The guests ranged in age from early 20's to late 40's and everyone was laid back and friendly. We met many great couples and shared our vacation stories. We watched the daily events and activities by the pool or just laid around sunning by day, then watch the nightly activities or go out with the resort group at night. By the time the week was over, we didn't want to leave and were jealous of the new people arriving.

The best thing about this place it the pool. The games were so much fun. We won the body shot contest.
The food in the buffet was good. We used our one coupon for the fancy restaurant at the Chinese place. That was ok. I asked the waiter what kind of sauce there was in a entree. He brought out a huge bottle of MSG and asked e how to say it in English.
Overall the place was nice, the ocean water was full of seaweed but the beach was nice and I never had a problem getting a lounge chair. We are already looking for a trip back asap.

The resort is right by the ocean and we had a great view from our room. There are three pools, each with a different theme depending on what you wanted to do (i.e. relax, play sports, socialize). The overall experience at the resort overshadowed the flaws and the fact that there were a lot of repeaters there made it easier to take better advantage of what it had to offer.

However, a negative of the Blue Bay Getaway is that their beach is not as beautiful as those on the other side of the hotel strip. Their beach is not as blue and the sand not as white.
