Fun place to party

If you are looking for a conservative hotel for a quiet time look elsewhere. The hotel restaurants are very good, above average food, plenty of activities. There are two pools, a quiet one, and a party one where the staff gets adult pool games going after lunch. Bartenders are all good, but tips are greatly encouraged for a better drink. One tip: bring your own cups as the ones at the bar are tiny. All in all not a bad place for a couple of days, but the theme gets old after 3-4 days, I would not spend a week there, but for the money a decent place. I was surprised at the food selections though, Asian, Italian, Tex Mex and Caribbean exceeded my expectations.

The hotel is a bit separated from the main plazas. There is a bike path on Blvd Kukulcan that will take you all along the main drag, but forget about walking. The bus stops about 20 yards away from the hotel entrance, and at 7.50 pesos (60 cents US) it's a bargain. This property makes traveling outside obsolete. They provide daily entertainment (Patricia and Karla were awesome) organizing pool side events, beach and pool volleyball, lingerie shows, etc. The food is better than I expected for an all-inclusive property. The restaurant and bar staff go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied (Galo at El Embarcadero was amazing) Just don't forget to tip! They still provide a service. My room, at least, was run down; the bathroom door was rotting at the bottom and the drain outside the shower was at the wrong angle, so I had a puddle of water every time I took a shower. The AC unit is noisy even at its lowest level. The entry door is just a wood plank. You can hear everything out in the hall way, at every hour of the night. Overall a good value if you are there to party...and you will!

4/19 - 4/25 Vacation

This hotel is nice but def old. It needs a make-over. Staff is very very nice and accommodating. Do not pay for the ocean view room upgrade...it is def not worth the price and your view is actully of the roof of a restaurant with a small corner of the ocean even visible. They do have other "ocean view" rooms that are not obstructed but get very clear info on your reservation. If you do not want to be up unitl 4:00 AM every single night DO NOT book your room above the courtyard patio bar. Was not an issue to us but if you would be irritated by constant music and loud people noise be sure to stay on the other side of the hotel. All in all...for the price...a fair deal but was really disappointed in the view.

We are Wisconsin 50ish travellers not prudes but appreciate a clean room, good food, and entertainment. We were at Blue Bay about 15 years ago and it was fun. The new hotel has nice clean rooms, the buffet was fair to good, the special dining rooms were very good but service was quite slow. It got very old so we spent most of our time at the quiet pool. There is a lack of organized activities and the shows were poor and seedy. Be careful it is a time share and they fool you by saying it isnt and its just an orientation and tour of hotel.( they call it membership not time share).

Traveled with my wife and 3 other couples, have nothing but good to say about the resort. The food was as good as we have had in our years of traveling. Service was great, people working there were always friendly and hard working. If you are closed minded to a little adult fun this place is not for you,met a ton of nice people from all over the world, who had one thing in common, to have a great adults only vacation. We will definately return....
