Since it’s low season there, we got a good rate at this luxurious hotel, pricing at $169 per night compared with $330 a night during January or February. Arriving, the hotel was amazing, up a brick road and passed fountains. The hotel is all white and looks like a palace! Parking is complimentary. As we entered to check in, we immediately saw tons of flowers and the lobby smelled good! Check-in was smooth.
We got an ocean-view room on the fourth floor, near the spa, so the hallways smelled nice. The room was very nice, and the bathroom was amazing, all in marble. The beds were big and comfy. Plus, we got a fridge for only $5 a day. We planned to buy things at Wal-Mart, so we needed the fridge badly and got the last one available (it seems people like us were doing the same). Every time you call the desk, they call you by your name. They’re so nice and care about you.
The pools were huge, linked together like a lagoon. Plus, one part of the pool flows over and down, so you can be at the edge and enjoy a magnificent view of the ocean. Do view my pictures. The beach was always kept clean and was the softest I have ever been on. It was very, very soft. There were always bungalows available, even if you come around 9am (but remember, this is the low season). The water was truly turquoise and magnificent, with big waves the first couple of days, gradually getting into a calmer mood. I went boogie boarding and swimming. There was a café (a Marriott restaurant was convenient, but quite expensive).
