Happy Anniversary!!!

Despite the fact that this hotel is small compared to all the other hotels in Cancun, the service of the very friendly staff was wonderful. The entire hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The staff always had a smile and friendly thing to say. The view was amazing. The food was really good, especially in the Italian restuarant at the hotel. We loved our escorts to the clubs, they were amazing!!! Loved being greeted at the door and the door opened for us, even when we were leaving. No hassles, no problems!!! My only suggestion is that the hotel put in a club and keep the pool bars open later than they currently do. As a mother of 5 and this was my 10th anniversary gift from my husband, I couldn't be happier with this hotel. I am a very hard person to please, so, CUDOS to Park Royal! You guys made my vacation wonderful!!!!!

My wife and I have been to the Sandals resort in Jamaica, we have been to the Bahamas, and we have been to the Cayman Islands. This was our first trip to Cancun and we absolutely LOVED it. The Park Royal Cancun was fantastic. It was as nice if not nicer than the Sandals resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. And the best part about it is that it only cost 1/3 of the price compared to the Sandals Resort. The resort was one of the cleanest we have ever been to. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bar tenders did not just serve you drinks but they would get to know you and by the end of the trip we knew their first names and they knew ours. The view of the ocean was the best view we have ever seen as the adult pool sits about 20 feet above the beach and you can sit in lounge chairs and look out over the ocean, be right next to the pool, and close to the bar to get drinks. The Italian restaurant was delicious. The breakfast buffett had a good selection of food from their french toast that had cinnomon sprinkled on it to the chef that would make you omelettes right in front of you, and any eggs any style you like. Lunch was great and dinners were also very good. The snack bar that served hot dogs and hamburgers was ok. The snack bar could use a little help on the food but it was ok and we would grab a burger or hot dog between lunch and dinner to hold us over. Overall it was an awesome trip for a great price. We're are for sure going back. Location very good.

This trip was fantastic!!! Of course company was a lot of it, but the Park Royal did not disappoint! Clean bright room w/2 beds as requested. Not much of a view, but we weren't there for the view. Two great pools, clean and pristine. we spent most of our time at the adults only pool and the staff were quick to make sure it stayed adults only. PLENTY to drink and very friendly staff!! Helpful when they could understand you, but we WERE in Mexico, so learned to speak the language!! Food was good, never went hungry, but didn't go there for the food either!! Loved some of the hotel sponsored events, but karaoke night only lasted an hour and we could never even get on the list to 'perform'. Location was satisfactory for us but could be closer to clubs if you wanted to go out. Did have a shuttle to take you every night, but then have to wait for them to come back. Transportation I arranged before arriving was at the airport to meet us. But then we had to interrupt one of our days to 'arrange' transportation back. I felt it was a ploy to sell 'extra' items, but did not let us spoil our vacation, simply stated in no uncertain terms what we needed.
Overall, would definitely stay again, in fact, hope to do it sooner rather than later, only longer!!!
Bait and Switch - AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Most of the rooms in this property say "partial ocean view", which means if you bend out your window and lean over you can maybe see a slice of water. The hotel is sideways so there aren't a lot of full views.
I tried to check in to my Presidential Suite at the Park Royal on April 8. From the minute I arrived they started offering me "better" rooms - I should have known I was about to get raked over the coals. The presidential suite is supposed to have a separate living area and bedroom, balcony jacuzzi and view of the ocean or lagoon. The first "better" rooms were two adjoining traditional rooms with no view (I'm traveling with two kids 6 and 8, so this is a non-starter). Then they show me another set of adjoining rooms, no view, no balcony or jacuzzi. Then they finally show me the "presidential suite" which in this case was a first floor, parking lot view. They claimed all the presidential suites were booked and they couldn't do anything for me. The hotel claims since they "gave me options" that I didn't take, they were going to bill me for one night's stay. After 1/2 hour with the desk managers X and X, and hours on the phone, I'm nowhere. I didn't stay there, but they sure kept my money. BTW, the place is a dump and the only allegedly good restaurant doesn't accept kids under 12, which they don't say on their web site.

For the money the Park Royal is a bargain. Very clean resort. We stayed for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. The beach is beautiful there. The Presidential sweet is wonderful ,providing your not on the bottom floor . We were on the 5th floor and the view is amazing. The staff is very nice and do not hound you about a time shares. Only down fall you only have two double beds ; not good for honeymooners. The food is good, hey its a buffett it gets old; but always good food. Very beautiful well maintained grounds. The hotel and rooms are kept spotless. I recomend this hotel its was a great stay!!!
