One of five Palace Resorts in Cancun, the Beach Palace is located almost dead center on the hotel strip. The Beach Palace is an all-inclusive resort, so all your meals, drinks, and non-motorized water activities are included in the room price. For stays of 3 days or more, they include one excursion tour of your choice, for stays of 5 nights or more, you get two tours. Some tour choices are Chichen Itza, Tulum, Isla Mujeres, XCaret, and more. Tours include transportation and sometimes meals and drinks. The food here is typically buffet style fare with an option to order off of a limited menu for dinners. There is also a menu only Mexican restaurant available for dinners only, reservations required. The food is good, not great...it was what I expected. You could definitely get better food elsewhere, but it was acceptable and a good value for an all-inclusive. Drinks are also included, unlimited, but there is not a huge selection of brands, mostly national brands (Dos Equis beer for example). Once again, not perfect, but a good value. Our room was a junior suite on the 8th floor. We were pleasantly suprised to find it had an in-room two-person hot tub! Yeeha! This was great and was used almost every night. The king size bed was comfortable and the rooms were clean. Marble floors and bathrooms help keep the rooms cool. Satellite tv is available, but who wants to watch tv in Cancun? We had a corner room which afforded us a full view of the Nichupte Lagoon and a partially obstructed view of the Caribbean, which I must say was absolutely gorgeous. The Beach Palace is on the beach, you can hear the waves from your room. The sand here is super soft white, but the water can be a bit rough on this side since it faces the open ocean. Warning flags are posted when the water is not safe to swim in, but most people will find the undertow too strong almost anytime. Best to head up to the tip of the peninsula for swimming. The staff was very friendly and hospitable. There is no room service, though you can have drinks delivered to your room for free during certain hours. Since this is one of a chain, you can freely visit any of the five Palace Resorts (you provide your own transportation)...as they say 'Stay at one, play at five'. Overall, I would say that the Beach Palace was a good value for those who want to stay at an all-inclusive resort.
