This was my first visit to Cancun and I am already planning my next one. The Beach Palace resort was a great place for my sons and I to stay. The food was good and always served hot. The front desk staff was courteous and tried to be as helpful as possible. The bartenders and waitstaff were all very professional. We spend a lot of time doing the activities at the hotel such as water aerobics, volleyball, bingo etc and the people leading those activities are great. I even leared to Salsa dance and speak a little bit of Spanish. The evening Fire Show and Cultural Dances were great. I highly recommend this hotel as it is centrally located and is in close proximity to many local shops and restaurants.

Very nice resort. The rooms and everything were brand new as of Jan 08. I stayed there a few weeks after their opening, and while there were a few finishing details left to sort out, our stay was quite nice. The pool area is very relaxing, with the ocean just beyond. One important note, at the time of our stay, the "Beach Palace" had no beach! Not sure if this has been resolved, but the ocean waves washed directly up to the retaining wall of the property, with NO SAND BEACH available. Personally, I didn't care, I wanted drinks poolside anyway. If this is of concern, call ahead to verify. Food was great, the outdoor grill was a perfect place for dinner. The other restaurants inside the resort were quite good as well. Roof top pool was still being finished, but seemed nice and much quieter than the ground level. Close to Cancun, short ride to/from the airport. Very friendly staff. We had a 1 year old with us, no problems. Evening movies on poolside screen and/or music peformances were nice, but there weren't too many activities for older kids (beyond the pool). Nightlife was "ok", nothing too crazy or "clubby", but the sports bar/live music proved fun. A great place to relax.

Beyond First Class... just ask and you receive! This place is fabulous.
My wife and I took our 4 kids (12,12,9,6) and stayed at the Beach Palace for 10 days in June.
We loved the restuarants (so nice not to have to make resevations for dinner... we enjoyed the great wines, the Steak House, Italian and Japanese cuisine... all left you wanting more. We took advantage of most of the excursions including the WetnWild WaterPark, MoonPalace Golf, Isla Mujeres Trip (rent a golf cart to tour the island, great place for cheap suveniors), Swim with the Dolphins and the Pyramids (amazing but it's far too hot and a very long day... felt too much like work). Staying here gave us full access to 2 other sister resorts in Cancun also 1st Class and very nice (The Kids Club at the Cancun Palace and the loaner cell phone they gave us to call and check on the kids without leaving the pool was great. 5 hours later they didn't want to leave... they had all the food and entertainment they could every desire) but we preferred the Beach Palace because we loved how close everything was... you did't have to go far to get to the pools, food, entertainment, spa or downtown. We watched the Celtics beat the Lakers in the Sports Bar one night and the pools on the roof were amazing and it was not crowded... we never had to go to the pool at 6am to save a seat! Truely relaxing. It's been 4 months and we still talk about it and plan on returning this year.
Just Okay, would rather have been somewhere else

The greeting was great. We were met with a cool washcloth when we stepped from our shuttle. Inside we were offered a glass of champagne and given a white carnation while we waited to check in. The room wasn't exactly like the pictures but close enough. The bell boys took our luggage from the shuttle when we arrived and said they would take our luggagge right up to the room. Over 3 hours later I was walking through the lobby and saw our luggage still on a cart outside the hotel. The shower/toilet area was small. The jetted tub was nice. The room service was usually quick and friendly. We were eligible for a package deal which offered select free tours which was one reason for choosing this hotel. The downside: Not too much dining variety. The pool water looked clouded. The beach area was small. The Fitness Center was small, 8 machines and a weight bench. The non-motorized water sports were 15 minutes away with only one shuttle time daily to get you there and one return time so if you don't want to spend all day there you have to find your own transportation. Limited hotel shoppping. The ceiling in the lobby and restaurants leaked and many patches were visible. When we moved the bed to make room for the roll away bed there were old french fries, etc. under the bed. We were there for 10 days and the maids did not sweep the floor once. I wish we had stayed at the Moon Palace instead.
