Small resort, small pool, dirty beach

The resort lobby is actually quite beautiful, but it's open to all wild birds It was inundated with pigeons, which are notorious for carrying MERSA; a highly infectious Staph infection. My wife and I were actually at the lobby bar having cocktails before dinner and these pigeons literally walked right up to her. Not a good thing before dinner. A bit too indigenous for us.
The hospitality was very good but you may want to learn a little Spanish before embarking to Fiesta Americana.
It is not designed for a romantic get-away. It's more of a family oriented hotel. I found many local from different states or municipalities staying there with their incredibly large families; many children. I guess we chose this small resort based on online travel website, and other web reviews. Do not be mislead.
We will return to the Mayan Riviera, which is unspeakly beautiful and clean.

But what a costly mistake this was. Fiesta Americana was very expensive, and not at all what we expected from a 4 star resort. The food was utterly Insipid, and the prices are out of this world. I have travelled extensively and I tell you, I have never seen this type of penny pinching behavior from a resort.
We all came back with a great tan....but is it worth 5 thousand dollars. I am guessing not.
4 stars is way too generous for this 2.5 to 3 star resort, and I am being generous.
So beautiful but not so good

Puerto Vallarta is truely beautiful in many ways. The Bay of Banduras and the surrounding mountains are breathtaking. I only wish we had payed a little more and stayed in NAYARIT - New Hotel Area in Puerto Vallarta. Fiesta Americana was so old and so run down. They hospitality deserves an A for great work, but the resort itself deserves a D. I understand the owner has a penthouse on the 9th floor. He should think about investing some DINERO and upgrading those rooms. Ewww, never again. It was worse Howard Johnson, or Motel 8.
II am so driven by the beaches and I found them so dirty, and the sand was so course, I did not enjoy them at all. Next trip would be to the Yucatan Peninsula. I undestand the sand is white, and fine, and beaches are clean and full of life.
If you are on a fixed income, or if you find yourself financially strapped, this is the place for you. But if you can afford more, stay elsewhere. The place is so Old and so Run Down.

I would give this place a 2.5 star and I am being generous. This is perhaps the worse place we have stayed in Mexico, from Cancun to Acapulco, and resort area surrounded by tin houses. We've been to Cancun at least 5 times, and I can't compare it. Puerto Vallarta is filthy; the smells otrocious. the beaches were dirty and the water was an ugly green color. I never went in the ocean once. Too dirty. I have never seen to many beggers come up to me while resting in front of the resort area. Do not be mislead by the pretty pictures. The place is real dump. In fact, I would probably turn down a free vacation to the same place. Pretty Bad!!!!!!!!
Not worth the money

Fiesta American was about an arms length away from Los Tules, right next door. The beaches were dirty, full of trash. I have no idea what the locals eat, but it did not smell good to this American. I was quite disappointed with the resort, the prices, and Puerto Vallarta. Would never return.
Two of us from the Virgin Islands sat in this cab, as he told dispatched "I have 2 Latino Americans going to Fiesta America." The resort was 4 miles from the airport. The cab was a standard with no shocks and $18.00 later we were there. Never again.
Enough of Mexico for us. Too poor, too dirty, and you should be vaccinated before you enter the country.
