A Touch of Class

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in July 09. From the minute we arrived the service was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel special. Our accomodation was one of the lower priced rooms and we were absolutely astounded to find we had a suite with a sitting room, bedroom and bathroom. The decor was luxurious, everything was provided from bathrobes to slippers and umbrellas in case of rain. We ate in the restaurant on the first night. Just the wait in the main drawing room was an experience, with homemade canapes and excellent service. The meal was faultless and it was worth spending a little extra. We took advantage of the spa facilities which we had pretty much to ourselves. The pool was spacious, the jacuzzi wonderful and the sauna and steam room superb. The grounds were extensive with a croquet lawn and a beautiful walk around the lake. Refreshment could be taken on the terrace which was wonderful. We also had room service, as there are no tea/coffe making facilities in the rooom, which was servied promptly in a silver tea service with home made shortbread. We had the buffet breakfast which was included in the price of the room. The choice was vast, everything from cereals to fresh pastries, toast, tea, coffee etc. The full english breakfast was available and looked like you would not have been able to move after if you consumed it all. I cannot praise this hotel enough, and if you want to treat yourself there are probably no better places to go.
