Although It's Inexpensive Not Sure I'd Stay Here Again

Its not horrible by any means but much better for students then it is for anyone over 30. The whole time you know its inexpensive but you don't come out feeling like your getting a great deal. Stay away from the rooms that over the hotel's courtyard -- the noise of drunk students will drive you crazy. All in all, I'd prefer not to stay here again if I could avoid it, although the price is almost always very tempting for the location.

Close to Tube, nice bathroom

Room was small but adequate. Nice bathroom. Close to Tube, so easy to drag a lot of luggage. There is no pool available in this hotel. You have to go to another one and pay $10 to use it, so we didn't. There was a large group of noisy students and we complained at the desk. They either moved them or quieted them and that was appreciated. Breakfast okay, just toast and cereal unless you wanted to pay an extra $ 9 for hot food. Convenient to the tour bus pick up and walking distance of theatres and the British Museum.

This hotel stay was not nice. The place had a horrible oder of smoke. The place was very confusing to find your way around.

Royal National Hotel

Be forewarned, the Royal National Hotel is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Most of the administrative staff are incredibly rude and the hotel is dirty and smelly. Most of the fixtures (i.e., lighting and bathroom faucets) are in bad repair and be prepared to dread riding the elevator.

That being said, the Royal National is in an excellent location. It is close to the Russell Square and King's Cross/St. Pancras Tube stations and is flanked by Russell and Tavistock Squares. The neighborhood is relatively quiet and has a rather residential feel. The hotel is also just across the square from the British Museum and the bellhop/concierge desk people are quite helpful and friendly.

Don't come here

First of all, the shower wasn't working, and wasn't fixed until after lots of complaints. Secondly, the dinner was uncooked and my friend became ill. We complaineed to no effect. We could only get cereal or cold toast for breakfast. The beds were hard and my friends went sleepless for our whole time there. The showers, when they were working, went from hot to cold to hot quickly and blasted people off of their feet the pressure was so high. My friends got scalded from an unexpected blast of heat.
