30 yr. Anniversary vacation

We wanted something special for our 30 yr. anniversary and the Riu Palace delivered with a sparkeling clean hotel with great service. Entertainment needs improvment. Avoid the airport pitches to attend an "open house" it's a timeshare pitch in disguise, although we netted a lobster dinner cruise and more but it took up most of our day. Didn't like having to make dinner reservations a day & half in advance or it's the buffet (again). Too many small children for the most part unsupervised. Loved that it was all-inclusive & no tipping! 5 days was too short!

Not satisfied!

When we arrived, our room was not ready, went back at 5:00 and still not ready, so they moved us to another room, which the air conditioning did not work. We ate at the outside cafe, which the food was lousy.

Riu Palace Mexico

The hotel was lovely, beautifully elegant decor. The staff professional, friendly, they really seem to enjoy their jobs. We were naive to the “all inclusive hotel” and were completely impressed. The food was really very good and available at all hours of the day and night. Different restaurants to choose from, room bar was stocked and restocked daily with our preferences of non alcoholic and /or alcoholic drinks and of course there was the bottles to mix your own if you choose not to gather at the comfortable well furnished lounges, swim or walk up pool bar, beach bar or other Riu resorts within a short beach walk or across the street. We were also able to enjoy all services at the Riu in Cancun! The beach was nice, many activities included, shows okay and some very good. Location is good, safe, and secure entrance to area Condos/hotels and to the hotel itself. The people of the area are warm and friendly, the history and archaeological sites are unreal. We highly recommend Riu to those of us who have not yet tired of the all inclusive life, I personally love being land locked. Go you will be happily surprised.

We had a wonderful time. The resort was everything that we wished for - beautiful and quiet. All 4 of us stayed healthy and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Have never seen such hard working staff elsewhere. Fantastic and would gladly visit again.

We had a great trip to Playa del Carmen and the Riu Palace Mexico. Overall the trip was great...the weather was perfect and the beach was beautiful with more than enough loungers. We thought that the food was average and would not recommend eating sushi at any of the restaurants. My husband didn't feel well for a couple of days afterwards. The service at the hotel was excellent and the people were very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to friends for an affordable vacation. Definitely go into town if you go - great food and buys.
