Best Things Nearby:
The town is in walking distance.

Best Things About the Resort:
The staff. Everyone is friendly and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful and the pools are clean and cool.

Resort Experience:
It is like being in paradise. Everything is there for you. The restaurant will cook the fish you catch any way you want it. The whole resort is immaculate. They have activities and plenty of chairs to sunbathe. This is our favorite place on earth.

Best Things Nearby:
Marina, center of town, good restaurants.

Best Things About the Resort:
Walking distance to marina and center of town.

Resort Experience:
I own a one-bedroom/two-bathroom unit at Playa Grande. I had to bank my week because of conflicts and then exchanged into the same resort, but into a two-bedroom/three-bathroom "penthouse". I really like this resort because it has beautiful units, a great view, nice pools, a nice beach to walk along (I personally don't mind that it's not "swimmable"), and it’s within walking distance to restaurants, entertainment, stores, marina, etc. I was there alone and felt very safe at both the resort and in Cabo. I love the weather in Cabo.

I have only three fairly minor complaints/concerns with the Playa Grande:

1) Slow check-in and check-out. Hopefully, this will be corrected with new lobby.

2) Very upset with the television channel availability (or lack of). There were only three very uninteresting English-speaking channels. For a resort of this caliber, I should be able to watch TV. Most other resorts in area have cable and/or satellite TV (the year before, I was able to watch the Packer/49’ers playoff game at Hacienda del Mar).

3) Although the pools are gorgeous, I'm slightly concerned that they aren't big enough now that they're finishing and selling the last phase of new construction. It already is sometimes difficult to find a chair at the pool if you don't get there early in day and am concerned it will be even worse with the new buildings.

All in all, I think this is one of the finest resorts in Cabo.

Solmar Beach. Lover's Beach. The town of Cabo. Take a trip to Todos Santos. . . you will find MILES and MILES of deserted white sand beaches! Also, don't miss "Art and Beer", a secluded cantina in the middle of the desert on your way to or from Todos Santos. Dolphin Beach is also worth the 20-minute drive.

Best Things About the Resort:
Very new. Rooms are beautiful, all with ocean view. Solmar Beach is fantastic.

Resort Experience:
This is a great resort right on Solmar Beach. I have visited many of the resorts in Cabo and think this is definitely in the top two or three! The rooms are perfect, with beautiful tile throughout, very roomy, and great views. We stayed in a studio on one occasion and a one-bedroom unit on another. All were great. . . we actually probably preferred the studio because of the view and it was the newest. If you can go in March, the whale watching is AMAZING. I have never seen anything so spectacular in all my life. We weren't thrilled with the management, but the service people were wonderful.

Marina and the town of Cabo San Lucas

Best Things About the Resort:
Unit was very elegant and clean, it had 2 balconies and 2 bathrooms. Kitchen had a full size fridge and nice appliances. Master Bathroom has a jetted tub and its own balcony. Beautiful pool and view of the ocean.

Resort Experience:
This is a very nice resort, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has mobility problems. Timeshare sales people were annoying.I told them I wasn't interested several times, then one of them came to our unit and I told him to buzz off and quit bothering me.

Not being able to swim in the ocean was a drawback for us, but other people didn't seem to mind.

Best Things Nearby:
The resort is a few minutes drive from the city of Cabo, around the corner from the marina where one can catch a boat taxi to the tiny Lovers Beach and see the Arch-Land's End. For souvenir shopping, you can shop in Cabo or at the marina (best bargains).

Best Things About the Resort:
The resort is well-maintained, clean, beautiful, and inviting. Not only are the rooms pleasant, but the staff is friendly and accommodating. The food seems authentic, but it is not world-class. The staff is up before dawn to clean the five pools, spa and grounds every morning. As far as resort activities are concerned, the weekly buffet is a must do. It is both elegant and fun.

Resort Experience:
The Playa is a grand resort where you can truly enjoy your time off. Not only is the resort gated, but it gives the impression of serenity and security. It has a handful of pools to choose from, a spa, a poolside bar and restaurant, an exercise room (at their next door sister resort), the beach (on the Pacific side where you cannot swim), and is up the hill from the marina where you can partake in your choice of water-related activities. The staff is very accommodating and there is always someone ready to lend a helping hand (bring dollars). The only downside had nothing to do with the resort, but with the other vacationers. This is one of those resorts that more than lives up to its online description. When I return to Cabo, it will be back to the Playa.
