Playa Grande Resort

The accommodations were first rate. Beautiful inside, king size bed, couch and 30" TV in the family room, medium-sized kitchen. It had a patio where you could sit outside and admire the view. Very comfortable air conditioning and a beautiful bathroom. It is all and more than we had hoped for.

Best Things Nearby:
The resort was right on the beach, but you could not swim in the ocean because of riptides. The beach and pool areas were spectacular. The town and the marina were a 10-minute walk.

Best Things About the Resort:
The view, pool area, location, and beach were the best things about this resort. It was very understatedly elegant without the stuffiness. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. I loved the ambience of the entire resort.

Resort Experience:
It was a very relaxing resort. We hung around the pool area most days and just soaked up the sun. There were activities like volleyball and some other things each day, but you did not have to participate. There were young children there and the pool area had a small kids' pool, but this was not a resort geared towards kids. It was more couple oriented.

The rooms were very large, clean, new, and nicely decorated. We stayed in a studio and it was plenty big for the both of us. Every room had a great view of the pool area and the ocean.

The pool area was beautiful, with five pools cascading into one another. There was great service at the pool and every day at 3:30pm, there was two-for-one happy hour and everyone participated! It was a very fun atmosphere by the pool -- just enough activity but plenty of peace and quiet. Every one of the staff was very polite, very friendly, and professional. There was a terrific workout facility. We ate in the restaurant for lunch and breakfast, and the food was delicious. Overall, the hotel was terrific.

City, harbour, lights, and sunsets.

Best Things About the Resort:
CLOSE!!!

Resort Experience:
This resort reminds me of the Bellagio in Las Vegas with Chihoule glass on the ceiling. The accommodations were spacious, all marble and granite, with glass showers.

There's a sauna and grocery store on site. If you're lazy, there's a sports bar. There's a putting green under the falls and three pools sloping to the Pacific. And there are wonderful sunsets!! Really, I can't say enough.

Best Things Nearby:
Walking along the beach. Close to town and the harbor.

Best Things About the Resort:
Great beach view. Large rooms. Great room service.

Resort Experience:
The resort is like a small Mexican seaside village. All the rooms have a view of either the ocean or the pool. The only strange thing is that when you get into the room, the electricity is not on. There is a slot by the door that you have to either put your door key or maid service card into and the lights and A/C comes on. The maid took the maid service card out of the slot every day, but the fridge and clocks stayed on. The rooms were large, had tile floors, and were very quiet. We had a balcony that over looked the pool and the ocean.

The pools are very nice at this resort. The only problem with this resort is that people save pool chairs and do not use them until later in the day. The resort does not allow this, but they also do not stop it. If the resort had more pool chairs in the adult area, this probably wouldn't be a problem. The food and drinks by the pool were really good and the service was always great.

Awesome! What a great resort. Our unit was directly facing the water with both sunrise and sunsets. Two pools and swim up bars. Private beach, albeit unswimmable, but spectacular waves. It's perched on a hill directly above the town. Just a short walk down and you're there.
