What a gem!

The place was amazing. We were thrilled with our rooms, they were far nicer than we expected for the price. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even printed a train schedule for us and explained how to take the Caltrain into San Francisco (since we had never done it before). We walked to the train station from the hotel, and then it was just $2 to ride into Frisco. The train dropped us off right across the street from AT & T park for a Giants game. Then we took the BART and a cable car down to fisherman's warf (around $3). It was a great experience and a great stay. We would happily do it again. The hotel has a free parking garage underneath it, that is much better than paying $30 to park at a hotel in San Francisco and fight the traffic. If you don't want to take the Caltrain, you can drive a couple of blocks to a huge shopping mall and take the BART into San Francisco. We did that the next day. The only complaints we had was the tranquility spa. The whirl pool was set to 84 degrees. So it was really just a very luke warm bath and pretty much useless. Why bother heating it at all? Also, there was no fitness facility, but with all the walking we did in San Francisco, the fitness facility would be totally unnecessary. We got plenty of exercise. Warning, Mapquest let us down on the directions. We drove to exaclty where it told us and arrived at a check cashing place. But we called the hotel and they talked us in with no problems. Mapquest got us very close.

The place looks exactly like the pictures; it is very beautiful and the room was tastefully decorated. There is a FREE parking garage under the hotel. The only problem is when a older building is renovated, there will always be problems. The elevator broke down and we had to walk up 4 flights of stairs from the parking garage to our 3rd floor room. The hot tub was lukewarm and the sauna wasn't working at all. Breakfast consists of milk & cereal, toast, a few muffins, coffee, tea & juice. Overall, it was okay for the price we paid.

Great place for anyone!

This hotel exceeded all my expectations! It is a rather small hotel but every single part of it is beautifully and tastefully decorated. From the pleasing colors of the paint to the exquisite light fixtures and furniture, it is a joy to walk into this property and each of the rooms. The beds are one of the most comfortable I have laid my back on, comfy and richly accessorized. You can see the attention to detail everywhere, from the pleasing music that is always on in the lobby and the hallways, to the quality china and silverware used for breakfast, which is excellent by the way. The rooms are not big but are comfortable and quiet. If there's any downside, you can't turn up the volume on the TV much, but I guess it helps with keeping the noise down. The best part is the staff, who always have a smile on their faces and are ready to help you with anything you need. I don't think I have ever said this about a hotel before, but this place truly made me feel at home. I would definitely stay again and would recommend it to anyone.
