A Great Value

Have stayed at this hotel several times. While the beds can be rather firm, the rooms are clean and very reasonably priced. You can request a foam pad for the bed from the desk - sometimes it's available. The pool is my favorite part of the hotel - it's quiet - no constant noise from bingo, games, etc. like the other hotel pools. The maids are very pleasant and the pool staff friendly and attentive. Not too crazy about the time share sales people, but they leave you alone if you give them a firm "no thank you" and walk on. Friends have also stayed here with us and thought it was great for the price. Have already booked another stay!

In my opinion, anyone who is not completely pleased with Costa de Oro wnet there looking for something to complain about. We had a fabulous time. The bed weren't real comfortable but who goes to Mexico to sleep anyway.

Costa de Oro - Mazatlan

Stayed at the Costa de Oro from the 20th - 29th February. Stayed in a 1bedroom ocean view. Rooms were really nice. 2 double beds, living room/dining room, two sofas that can be made into beds, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, fully stocked kitchen. Beds were really hard and pillows even harder so I would bring your own. Staff were not the friendliest I have encountered. Usually by the time we leave we are on a first name basis with waiters, lobby personnel, bartenders. The only one who got to know us was our maid Isabella. She was great. They have lots of things to do, bingo, ceramic painting, cooking lessons, manicure station, spa (massage-30$ 1 Hour), little store with snacks, pop, beer, etc. They also have a pretty pricey jewelry store. Pool and Beach are great. They do not have lounges and palapas on the beach though so the only place to sunbath is around the pool which is nice also because there is an area where you can watch the activities on the beach and the ocean. It is right in the middle of the Golden Zone so lots of places to go to eat, shop, etc. They do have the All Inclusive for 48$ a day if you would like, you can take it day by day or for the entire stay. We did really enjoy ourselves so would go back there again.

Go somewhere else

I would never stay at this hotel again. I booked on line for a non-smoking ocean view. When I arrived, I needed to pay another $25/nite to upgrade from a garden view to an ocean view. I was OK with that. But, my 1st room had meldew ordor, so the next day I moved to another room. It also, had a bad musty ordor, so I moved back to a garden room on the 1st floor. The next day I discovered I had no hot water. When I called, all they said was, something happened and no one on the 1st floor had hot water. They didn't know when it would be fixed, and for the next three days I had no hot water. My stay was hell, and I will sum it up this way, if you have above average standards go to Pueblo Bonito. It will cost a little more, but it is money well spent. The reviews are right, Pueblo Bonito is great place. The help is very professional and they understand the meaning of customer service.

We stayed for 2 weeks, both recovering from surgery, the entire staff was awesome and all of them knew us by name. I can't wait to go and stay again and see all my new friends. I recommend getting one of their beautiful suites, it is well worth the view, the sunsets are unbelievable.
