A WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY

Casa Tukari made our vacation the best ever. The staff are beautiful friendly people who make you feel at home. My husband and I were there for 9 days and at the end of our stay we did not want to leave. We left feeling very relaxed, the way a vacation should be.

Definitely would stay again - service was remarkable! Bed was uncomfortably hard but when we commented on that they changed the mattress for us. Breakfast each day was very good - fruit, yogurt, toast, coffee, etc. It is a little remote - about .4 mile to the bus stop, but once you master the bus routes, it is very easy to get around from Tukari. Neighborhood has a lot of very expensive new homes many under construction and felt quite safe. if you want to get away from the insanity of the resorts and incessant timeshare nagging that plagues PV, this is an excellent choice. No TVs in the rooms - but if you are looking for a quiet getaway to enjoy the beautiful gardens and birds, sit by or in a lovely (and very clean)pool, read, or play games or cards with your companion, this works! We seldom saw or heard the other guests and were treated like we were their only priority.

A Lovely Place to Stay

Casa Tukari is for folks who want to escape the mad rush of the big hotel-resorts, and enjoy the quiet beauty of this lovely city. The grounds are impeccable; the rooms are a delight; but best of all, the staff are all helpful, friendly, and will arrange for any reservations or activities you like. Our only complaint was that the beds are only double (full) bed-size. They could do with an upgrade to at least queen or 2 twins. For us tall folks, it was a little challenging to get a comfortable night's sleep. That said, we would highly recommend Casa Tukari for a romantic get-away or a vacation of renewal.

Wonderful Casa

We went to PVR about two years ago and stayed at a all inclusive resort. We were looking for something much quieter so decided to try a bed and breakfast instead of a resort. I had read the reviews, but was nervous, but tried it anyway. I loved it. It is a sweet b and b about 6 blocks from the bus line and about 8 from the beach. They have 5 rooms, but only one other was used for a couple of nights. The company that owns it, their primary business is a travel agency. So, anything you wanted to do, they would set it up, including transportation to and from, even make reservations at restaurants. Our spanish is not good, so we had them make the reservations. The staff there is very considerate, very clean, breakfasts are very good. Some of the day trips we did are the air flight to San Sebastian (if you are interested in the history of the area or just want to see banderas bay from the air, it was wonderful), the bus to Boca de Tomatlan with the water taxi to Yelapa for the day (absolutely beautiful isolated beach), evening sail from the marina, rhythms of the night at las caletas, I could go on. Make sure you go to the Malecon (boardwalk) on Sunday night. The night is a festival for the residents of the city. This casa would also be wonderful for a family vacation, you could have the place to yourself or a bunch of friends. If you are adventurous, the bus goes just about everywhere and only cost about $0.50 each. It was good to have a basic understanding of PVR before trying here. Have a fantastic vacation!

Our Own Hidden Paradise

The neighborhood, at first blush, is a little scary. However, we soon learned it was perfectly safe. We arrived late, to a the smiling face of a staff member who showed us kindly to our room. The room was large, well equipped, and just wonderful. But the staff and their extra kindnesses are by far what set this hidden gem apart from the rabble. Don't hesitate, book it!
