we were from San Diego to celebrate my nieces Quinceaner. My sister made reservations a ionweek before the event , but when she arrived at the hotel two man and a women very rudely respond to her that there we no reservation my sister even show a card that a lady in administration had made to my sister writting the reservations for the three rooms, putting that after 9:00 a.m wil be available the name of the lady was Laura, well even though she had that information they said she had no reservation, so they made her wait for two hours ,but while she was waiting a lot people come in specialy grincos and philipinos and they got a room as soon as they get to the from desk, so angrily for the wait she ask the two man and the lady from the from desk whats going on they told my sister that El Camino Real was not the kind of stablishment were you could make scandals, later on my brother in law arrived speaking english and they gave him a room immidiatley.

I stayed once before and it was just like another hotel to stay and go to work but last time it looked like they are really getting better new carpets, beds were comfortable, and the room look different than last time, plus there was a very polite girl in the front desk...

I was there for a convention, and even when the convention facilities are great the hotel is overpriced for the lousy check-in and check-out procedures. My room (1110) reeked of cigar, this is my fault, I did not request a non smoking room cause I assumed the rooms were non smoking.
The cleaning staff is kind and courteous, but even if they try to leave everything spic and span, they miss important stuff like the obvious seminal fluid stains on the purple back wall where the headboard is fixed.
I noticed also that the back drapes have holes in them that shine trough during daytime, and during the convention I noticed all their public washrooms have lavatory faucets that leak. This is supposed to be one of Mexicos big, elegant and pricey hotel chains, but in my opinion, skip it. During the convention a woman´s purse was stolen in the buffet area, and no assistant was given to her but to tell others to guard their purses.
Filthy room, dont stay here.

The carpet in my room was the worst I have ever seen in a hotel in my life. Plaster was literally hanging from the sealing of my room. No maid service - I had to make my own bed. They did not want to accept the payment I made to Travel agency, insisting that I had to pay them directly even though I had paid with my credit card on the Internet to Travel website. Surprisingly, the food and ambiance at the restaurants was fantastic. Don't stay here but drop by for dinner.

The Camino Real is a luxury hotel chain in Mexico with a very peculiar architecture, you will notice the bold colors characteristic of Mexico: pink, yellow, deep blue.
The location of the hotel is very convenient as you are just steps from the Rio Mall area and also really close to the border, if you need to cross the border to San Diego you are very conveniently positioned. In the nearest corner you will find a small supermarket, great to get all your last minute supplies.
Camino Real is known for the restaurants and bars on-site, though they are expensive.
The rooms are comfy and ample, they have enough electric sockets to plug you laptop, cellphone and other gadgets you usually have on your business trips, a useful touch. Camino Real pays special attention at the bathroom, they make them spacious and they provide a bathtub where you can really relax and spend some good minutes by yourself.
At the bottom of the building there is a travel agency where you can arrange for transportation and change your plane tickets if needed.
If you stay at this hotel ask for a room with a view other than Paseo de los Heroes as you get to view the roof of the restaurant/bar, the other side is better you get a view to the mall.
