Hotel Hilton Colon

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. One night was before our Galapagos Cruise, and the other afterward. Both nights we were in King Rooms, once on the 8th floor, and once on the 7th. These rooms were huge, very comfortable, and had spectacular views on the city and surrounding hills. We ate at two restaurants within the hotel, Vereda Tropical and Cafe Colon. Both had delicious food and were very reasonably priced.

An American hotel in South America was quite a luxury before we started our mission trip. The rooms were clean and spacious, but some had a strong cigarette smell. You have all you would expect from a 4-star hotel in the States: bathroom amenities included hand soap, a manicure kit, a shoeshine towel, shampoos, lotions, toothpaste, and a brush. The breakfast buffet in the morning was FANTASTIC. It was an assortment of EVERYTHING, including many local specialties, cheeses, meats, seafood, and juices. Not sure how much it was, since it was included in our trip fee.

I had traveled around South America before, and we had a great time at this hotel; we found the rooms very clean and comfortable. The service was outstanding; we called for breakfast in our rooms, and it took them 10 minutes, always smiling and well-mannered. Yes, I would go back to the same hotel; it was a pleasure being there.
