Excellent resort, but don't venture off into town.

Great resort to stay at, but beware of venturing off into town. Both times we did and ate at "reputable" restaurants listed in brochures, we got sick. If you ask for bottled water, it's probably right out of the tap. I'd recommend only eating at the resort. You'll be safe there! There are 0-none Americans once you leave the resort, too. The beach at the resort is o.k., but I was expecting cool water & a picturesque beach; it's better than Galveston, TX, but it's certainly not Hawaii. It's nice for a short weekend getaway and if you only want to lounge by a pool and occasionally get in the ocean. And if you don't enjoy that, you'll be bored in a hurry. Am not planning on ever going to Mazatlan again.

The hotel is only a short cab ride (maybe 7 min) from the city. Upon arrival to the resort, upon entering the beautiful iron gates, you immediately feel as if you are arriving at your own pristine palace in the tropics. Pristine! The hotel is very elegant but not uncomfortable. The service was top of the line. The treatment is that of a 5 star; including free drinks, excellent baggage service, and excellent information and support (very inviting). The city itself was also enjoyable, for the price this trip is an absolute steal!! Mazatlan is impressive!!

We love this property, away from the hub bub of the Golden Zone, but with free shuttle service to the other Pueblo. We do own here and the only negative we feel is the restaurant, but the property in general is top notch. We are taking friends this trip to enjoy with us.
Beautiful vacation get-away spot

This entire resort is very clean and well maintained, has a beautiful pool and private beach, and the staff and service were great. They do invite you to a "welcome tour" which is actually a time-share sales pitch, but it was very low-pressure and you get a buffet breakfast and a $200 hotel food credit for attending. The facility is about 15 minutes out of town (there's a free hourly shuttle), so it's not a good spot for someone looking for night-life action, but it's a great spot if you just want to relax in a beautiful setting and avoid the touristy shops and beach vendors.
