Very clean, well-designed, in a safe area out of touristy Ipanema and Copacabana. Relatively uncrowded beach. Fast room service, helpful concierge, and a cool little bar. Close to hip restaurants. The hotel also has a car service and a nice little cafe on the first floor. The pool and fitness room are teeny, tiny, but you won?t care. So much to do in Rio. Prices for food and drink are incredibly low compared to Los Angeles. Party and eat at the planetarium 00 (Zero Zero) with discerning late 20s, early 30s crowd. Visit Sushi Leblon and prepare to be amazed.
Marina All Suites: Totally Recommended

This is a small, "European-style" all-suite hotel at half the price of the Copacabana area properties. We stayed here our first four days, before heading off to Ihla Grande. I would like to say that it was a total pleasure. From the moment we arrived, everything about this place screamed "understated style". That is, everything is just as it should be--the safe beachside location, friendly staff, clean and modern rooms, one of the top bar/restaurants in the city, rooftop pool, and workout center. We stayed at the famous Copacabana Palace at the end of our trip. Although this icon of hospitality was worth a visit, The Marina All Suites will be our address for future trips to Rio. This hotel is now one of my favorites in the world at any price!
