Fantastic Relaxing Vacation Again at Velas!

2nd visit to Velas. This time as owners Loved Velas that much that we are owners when we were there last time. You can get premium alcohol, Crown Royal, Absolut, Jack Daniels. Name it they probably have it. We had 2 Bedroom Suite with friends Beautiful view. Relaxing Vacation! Food & service again above excellent! Have best Cheeseburgers anywhere, we mean anywhere. Got StirFry almost everyday besides all there great buffet or what's on their menu. This time went to Casa Velas for dinner. Don't forget men bring pants. Dinner there absolutely delicious. They now have Beach Club for Casa Velas because it's not on the beach. Serve Thai Food, it too was excellent. View there is beautiful. They have small pool with Jacuzzi on each end. It rained almost every night. But so what. That's why it's beautiful. Beautiful sunsets. Constantly groom the gardens. It is beautiful. The Iguanas were swimming with us too. They just squirm in the water then get out & just sit there for longest time. Don't miss Mexican Fiesta on Sundays. Every night there is different theme at Andreas Restaurant. Great Chilean Wine. Reservations needed. Food there too is fantastic. Gabriel plays piano and he's great. All the staff at Velas are there to make sure you are taken care of. We had a massage at the tents by the beach. It was wonderful just hearing the ocean breaking on the beach. We loved the service from Francisco, Marceleno, Omar in the La Ribera Restaurant. Great Iced Tea too. Gilberto was our Pool Server at Aqua Bar. Brought our drinks and knew what we wanted everyday. It is true like another reviewer said, Gilberto's motto is "Everything is possible" He was so attentive. Even when we were playing cards & the wind came up, he put rocks on our cards(I brought them home) Francisco remembered our drinks too. Shima the Pool Bartender was very good too. Make sure you try our favorite drink, Midori,Rum,PineappleJuice,Coconut Milk. We had this last time we were there but the bartender that invented it wasn't there anymore so if Shima or Gilberto are there ask for Juanita's especial(my name) or tell them what's in it. Great Guacamole & salsa with corn & black beans. Even their Pizzas are great. At night we went to the bar in the lobby. Juehli was so good. She knew our drinks every night without telling her. Mariachi group was same group there couple of years ago. They play in Andrea Restaurant too. Great music and Great voices. Every night a little different and fun. Luis Miquel is also friendly. He sells fishing trips but he is very friendly and no pressure on what he does. The vendors on the beach are just trying to sell their items. They aren't has bad as you think. They had some good deals even better than in town. They do know the meaning of no.
We didn't do the City or Cultural tour this time but do take advantage of it. They are great if you haven't done them. Very interesting and fun. We went to town for shopping and went to the same little bar we went to 2 years ago in a little flea market called, bar called "Taco Loco" $2.00 Cold Beer. They cut the coconuts and make drinks Great shopping too all around this Flea Market and a bigger one down the street They have some beautiful clothes in some of the little shops too
Great family fun for kids at Velas. Can't wait to go back next year. Wish we could go next week! If you read a bad review of this hotel they must be unhappy Go to it and make your own review

Loved this hotel

I loved this hotel and can't wait to go back. We had the one bedroom suite and our room was spacious and very clean. The room also has a fully staffed kitchen (pots, pans, plates). They also provide some breakfast and snack items in the room, along with beverages in the fridge. The hotel staff is outstanding - they were very courteous and friendly. They offer pool side service, so we never needed to leave the comfort of our chairs. They only have two restaurants, but the food is exceptional in both restaurants. Another point of enjoyment for us are the animals that roam the grounds. There are a couple large peacocks that love to share whatever you are eating and they are friendly enough to eat from your hand. The hotel is also located on an awsome section of the beach and you are able take a sunset stroll in the sand and not have the deal with the constant merchants. The hotel is also a short walk from the marina and an 80 pesos ride to downtown. If you have the opportunity to visit Puerto Vallarta, please stay at the hotel you won't be disappointed. My only criticism, they do provide a child's pool, but many of the partents did utilize that pool and it sat empty and instead they utilized the larger pool. I don't know if the staff pointed out to these parents at check in, that they did have a very nice child pool, with plenty of seating and sun.

The Velas Vallarta hotel was gorgeous. The 1 bedroom suite was large, clean and very spacious. The grounds and pool area were beautiful. The food in the restaurants was exceptional. Being all-inclusive made all the difference. We had a pool waiter, who completely took care of us the entire time we were near the pool. All other employees were very nice and most spoke english very well. The time share pitches were not bad, you just had to say no. We would like to thank the Velas Vallarta Resort for making our trip a wonderful, unforgettable moment in our lives, we cannot wait to return!

We have stayed here twice and have had a great experience both times. The staff is very friendly and we just love going to the pool, walking the beach and going into town and on other off-site adventures. Haven't had a bad experience yet!

Love PV but would'nt go back to this hotel.

We arrived on time and the Velas was very beautiful. The staff was very courteous and we were taken to our room immediately. We had a studio which was OK. The problem was they were updating the room next to us and the noise and fumes were terrible. We called the desk and asked if we could change rooms and they accommodated us to a studio with a balcony. We would have to pay more, but we really wanted a balcony. Soon after settlling into this room, we heard a gurgling in the sink and shower. We called and they came and ran some water and said it was OK. Much later when we went to take showers we found the shower had no pressure. You had to turn the hot water on for about five minutes and it was very difficult to regulate. We did not call to change the room as we had been told that there were no other rooms. The surroundings were beautiful. My only other complaint would be the activities were a bit lame compated to other resorts we've stayed at.
