Plan Where to Eat!

For the best dining experience, make reservations early in the day (for that evening) in one of the restaurants that are part of the all-inclusive plan. A lot of people don't know about this, and the hotel doesn't really spell it out. My favorite restaurant was El Patio, where I had the best filet mignon of my entire life! The fish and beef were also good at El Alcazar, and the fish and Mexican food were good at La Cascada. La Cascada is also open for a sit-down breakfast and lunch; if you don't see what you like, ask for what you want and they can usually accomodate you. These restaurants are also kid-friendly, and you can dress casually. The only meal we ate at the buffet was the occasional breakfast when we were in a hurry. We did not care for the dinners at the buffet. For lunch, the snack bar and the grill near the beach serve a wide range of food that you can bring right down to the beach, if you want to. Having stayed here multiple times, I've learned to bring a stack of $1 bills for tipping. Yes, tips are already part of the all-inclusive, but we leave $1 per person per sit-down meal. We also tip the wailters who bring drinks. I also bring mini-chocolate bars to hand out; I make new friends, and I swear I get better deals from the beach vendors! Hope you enjoy your vacation!

Fantastic location, wonderful room, perfect access to the ocean. Everything you want to see and do is close and taxi service is always available. A great hotel, with beautiful rooms. Cannot wait to stay here again.

A Grown-up Getaway to Mazatlan

El Cid Castilla Beach Hotel was a wonderful place to spend with 8 friends who wanted to get away and have some drinks on a beach in Mexico. The service was excellent, the food was great, and the price was right! This isn't a five star hotel but you could eat like you were at one and drink like it, too. Some of our bedrooms were recently remodeled and just beautiful and others needed to be redone. But all in all it was nice. The pools were great! You can even swim up to one of the bars in the pool. I would recommend this place also for any one looking to getaway with your kids. The kids around us seemed to be having a ball!

We arrived very excited about our vacation but, since the first day I had to complain about ROACHES in the kitchen, had to call every day about 3 to 4 times daily and never had the problem taken care of. Worst hotel I have stayed in. Stayed in room 1703
