Description: This is definitely one of the best all-inclusive resorts we have stayed in while visiting Playa del Carmen. It was not on the beach, which I was rather skeptical about at first, as you definitely want to be on the beach, but after getting to the resort and seeing the short walk, it wasn't half as bad as I had thought. Plus, if you didn't want to walk, there was a shuttle every 10 minutes, but after eating the wonderful meals, I needed to walk of those few pounds I was sure to put on.
Check-in at the front desk was quick and easy. The staff was very attentive and very helpful, and always had a big smile on their faces. The grounds of the resort are really lush, green, and always clean. Our room faced the gorgeous pool, so we had a great view, and the room was large and fully stocked with spirits, beer, sodas, and water. The bed was comfy, and the cleaning staff did a great job every day of cleaning, restocking, and leaving cute little animal towels on our bed.
The pool on the property is one of the largest I have ever seen. Finding a chair was not too hard, as there is plenty of space, though finding a shady spot could be a little tougher. There was always an activity around the pool. From water polo to water aerobics and diving instruction to a swimwear fashion show, the staff was always at hand to entertain.
The restaurants on site were really good. The breakfast buffet was always good. They pretty much had the same thing for breakfast every day, but it was always fresh and always good. Lunch had different things on the menu, like different kinds of fresh fish that my husband went back for on numerous occasions, but you could also still get your hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. The guacamole was delicious! For dinner, you could go back to the buffet or choose the steak restaurant. We chose the steak one night, and it was quite nice. My husband tried the shrimp and steak, and he said it was great. I had the sirloin, and it was just okay, so I preferred the buffet.
Walking over to the beach every day did not get old. It was a short walk that was very enjoyable. Finding a chair at the beach can be hard, as there are the two other resorts situated on the beach, so you are competing with them. But once on the beach, there is a lot to do. There are sea kayaks, snorkeling gear, catamarans, paddle boats, and if you want to pay extra, you can do some motorized things, too.
I did not want to leave Playa or the resort. I would highly recommend both the resort and the location for those who want to just get away and forget their worries for a day. See to book.
