Excellent Stay

The service was great and the staff very knowledgable about the area. The room was clean and a good size, more than enough considering that when staying in the area that the hotel is located in you spend the majority of the time out in the city. Great Price, Great Service, and a Great all around place to stay.

Great find in a most interesting city

Small Hotel in the Sultanameth historical district of Istanbul. We could walk to most of the historical sites visited. Very clean and extremely helpful staff, although English fluency is limited to a few of them. Tours booked through the hotel were excellent with a great guide and value for the money. The room was small and over decorated for our taste, but clean and well supplied. The breakfast area is located in the roof of the building and the last segment of the stairs is hard for older persons. The view to the sea and the Blue Mosque are unbeatable. A good extra is the multitude of places to eat. The Turkish cuisine was a very nice surprise for us. Some friends stayed at a hotel across the Golden Horn and missed half the fun. The taxis we got through the hotel charged according to their meter, with reasonable rates. The ones you get in the street are a ripoff. They either don't use the meter or take you through the longest route they can find. We would go back to this little hotel any time and the city should be in anybody's must see places

Beware, bait and switch

We choose this hotel for the area, which was terrific and the views from the terraces. It seems that there are two locations for this hotel and the one that we were confirmed at, we were told were the deluxe rooms not the standard Travel agency rooms which are another location. The photos on line at Travel website show a combination of the photos of two different hotels that you think are one. So we stayed at the run down tacky one without the amazing terrace views. I would not recommend for this reason...we did not get the address and the views as shown.

Great location, it is only 3 minute walk to Blue Mosque and Agia Sofia. The environment was quiet and felt safe. The staff was very courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast was bountiful. The room was a bit small compared to US hotels, but was quite large in European standard. We would come back to this hotel again and would like to recommend it to everyone.

We had a hard time with the smoke that came into the room through the night from the lower part of the hotel/restaurant. This was easily fixed with a towel at the door. Comparing to other places throughout Europe, you can't do much better for the price. We had two small children with us and the friendly staff did a good job at trying to accomodate. The shower was very small for one person let alone if you are trying to bath a little boy at the same time. Then again, we have seen smaller. The location is very nice. Just a quick walk up the hill through a small bazaar and you are at the Blue Mosque. There were, of course, plenty of carpet salesman around, small food stands, restaurants and markets within a short walk. The restaurant provided us a good evening meal and the daily complimentary breakfast buffet was no more or less than what you could expect anywhere else.
