Off Season Motorcycle Getaway in Killington

Great location and a great value. The Mountain Sports Inn is located about 1/3 of the way up Killington Mountain on Killington Rd. A short walk in either direction takes you to Peppino's Italian Restaurant or Johnny Boys Pancake House. We arrived on motorcycle and found the Inn staff to be very accomodating. The parking lot is hard packed gravel so bring a kickstand support or the owner will be happy to give you one. The rooms are CLEAN and the rates very fair for the location. Don't expect a concierge, valet or bell staff, but who needs them when you have the owner living on the premises. It shows, too, as he takes great pride in the appearance of the place. The common room is "Vermont country friendly" with lots of wood and a fireplace for the winter. In season (winter) you get a hot tub and breakfast, too. Rooms are basic but modern and clean; while we heard others tell stories of rude staff and dirty rooms at the "chain" hotels we simply smiled and looked forward to seeing the resident moose trot on by. You don't come to Killington to sit in the room anyway, so spend the money you save on a nice meal and a bottle of wine. Enjoy!
