Better Choices along the Condado Strip

We just completed a four day stay on February 14th, 2009. This is about the fourth time we stayed at the Condado and have decided to book at another hotel in the future. We reserved three (3) rooms with this stay and all of us were under the impression based on the hotel's website, that from 1/05/09 through 12/31/09 it clearly states that "Stay for Four, pay for three". We even asked about a package when we booked the rooms in May 08. We were told to wait till 1/09 and the new packages would be advertised. In arriving at the hotel we were informed that the package was not available. It is not offered if they are booked. This is not stated on their website and we had to pay for the four nights.
I agree with the other reviews that the bathroom sliding partitions are off the tract and there is no privacy. We did have (believe it or not) mushrooms growing on the bathroom floor. Pictures of this were given to the hotel management and will be sent to their headquarters in N.Y.
We all know that mushrooms only grow from fungus.
I agree that the hotel has a beautiful pool and view. The Italian Restaurant is excellent and also their "direct deposit casino"..
We gave this hotel another choice as two years ago, we had raw sewage dripping from the bathroom on the floor above us. They claimed that they fixed this on four different occasions during our stay but, it was not fixed. We always stay at the Condodo after a week in Vieques and I will say that Vieques will be seeing us for a longer period of time and less if any at the Condodo.

OMG!!! When I walked in to the hotel I was shocked in just how beautiful and modern the lobby was. The staff were so professional and friendly. The front desk were extremely helpful. I stayed in the Ocean Vista suite and my god it was a view. The bathroom was fabulous! Very modern! Every morning waking up to the sounds of the waves crashing against the rocks. The pool was great to relax. The water slide brought me back to my childhood. Ha ha ha! It was FUN to enjoy. I loved the Italian Restaurant called Gusto Di Italia. The shrimp alfredo was DELICIOUS! The hotels Casino was fun too! Room service was quick. I enjoyed EVERYTHING about this trip and especially the hotel. I will visit again soon!

The positives: great location: very close to the Old SJ as well to Condado beach, excellent ballance between price and quallity,
The negatives: the ocean water pool is a litte bit dirty and tere is several old semidestroied buildings around that make the "big picktute" not a perfect one
Great Service, Not a Party Place

This hotel was alright. It was really nice, and I loved how the place looked like on the inside. The beds were so comfy!!! And the views from the rooms are great. I love having the casino right in the hotel. One of the bad things, the bathroom has a weird door that doesn't lock and is kind of see through. Also, if you are looking to party, don't go here. Right down the street at the San Juan Beach Hotel and Casino, there were like hundreds of people at the casino and club and turned out to be alot more fun than the Condado. However, the Condado had really great service. The beach at the hotel was not that great either. It is kind of off to the side of the hotel and it is pretty small. Farther down the street, there are much better beach areas. I didn't really try any of their food because it was way to expensive, but there are some really good restaurants in the area that some of the hotel staff referred us to. They also referred us to a marina for an offshore fishing trip. The service at the hotel was great, and they offered valuable information about the area.
We got PAID to stay there!!

Absolutely love the look of the lobby when you walk in. Wonderful rooms with nice deco and comfy beds. Bathrooms were very clean and tidy. Staff was courteous and helpful as well. The casino was small and many of the Craps & Blackjack tables were closed, possibly due to our mid-week stay, but I found one eventually and the Casino ended up paying US to stay for a couple nights and drink for free!! What more can you ask for? We will most definitely be staying again. Next time will be more during high season, around February. In June, the place is pretty quiet... great if that's what you're looking for though.
